Privacy policy

RedLeaf Auto (“we”) operates this store and website. This privacy policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit, buy from or contact us, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have. We follow the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws, including Quebec’s Law 25.

What we collect

  • Contact information: name, shipping and billing address, email address and phone number.
  • Order information: the items you buy, return or exchange, payment method and transaction details. Card numbers are processed by Shopify Payments and its providers; we never see your full card number.
  • Account information: if you create an account, your login details and preferences.
  • Communications: what you send us by email, including vehicle details you share for fitment checks.
  • Device and usage information: IP address, browser, pages visited and cookies, collected automatically by Shopify to run and secure the store.

Why we use it

  • To process and ship your order, handle returns and answer your questions.
  • To send order and shipping updates.
  • To send the guides newsletter, only if you opt in; every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • To detect and prevent fraud and keep the store secure.
  • To meet legal obligations such as tax records.

Who we share it with

Shopify, which hosts the store and processes payments; carriers, to deliver your order; suppliers who ship items to you; and service providers for email and analytics. Each receives only what it needs to do its job. We do not sell personal information. Some providers store information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local law.

Cookies

The store uses cookies to keep your cart, remember preferences and measure how the site is used. You can block cookies in your browser; the cart and checkout need them to work.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires (generally seven years). Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Account information is kept until you ask us to delete it.

Your rights

You may ask to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, withdraw consent to marketing, or ask how your information has been used and shared. Email redleafauto.ca@gmail.com and we respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your provincial privacy commissioner.

Children

The store is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of majority in their province.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version.
