ACDelco cabin air filter CF197 (GM 13503677) — OE direct-fit for select Cadillac, Chevy, Buick; multi-layer particulate capture

ACDelco CF197 (GM 13503677) is an original-equipment cabin air filter that captures dust and particulates to help keep your vehicle's ventilation clean and airflow efficient.

This ACDelco GM Original Equipment cabin air filter (CF197, also referenced as GM 13503677) is engineered and validated by General Motors to the same standards used during vehicle production. It uses multi-layer, non-woven media designed to trap common airborne particles before they enter the HVAC system, preserving cabin air quality and helping maintain fan performance. The filter is a direct-fit replacement for select Cadillac, Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and other compatible GM models.

How does this cabin filter differ from generic aftermarket filters?

Unlike many aftermarket options, the CF197 is designed, tested, and validated by GM engineers for compatibility with specific GM ventilation systems. That alignment means the filter's shape, pleat density, and media layers match the original specifications to maintain airflow and fit without modification.

• OE-validated fit for select GM vehicles (CF197 / GM 13503677)
• Multi-layer non-woven media tuned for airflow and particle capture
• Manufactured to GM quality and testing protocols

What kinds of particles does the CF197 capture and how efficient is it?

The CF197 uses long-media and a compound, multi-layer construction to intercept common cabin contaminants such as road dust, pollen, and other larger airborne particles. While not an air purifier for gases or odors, its layered design helps trap solid particulates and reduces the amount of debris that reaches the HVAC components.

• Long media increases surface area for particle capture
• Separated multi-layer construction contains more debris within the filter
• Helps protect HVAC components from buildup and maintains airflow

How easy is it to install and how often should it be replaced?

Installation follows the factory-recommended cabin filter access procedure for your specific GM model, typically reachable behind the glove box or under the cowl. Replacement frequency depends on driving conditions—inspect during routine maintenance and replace according to your owner’s manual or when you notice reduced airflow or increased dust in the cabin.

• Direct-fit design for straightforward swap-in installation
• Check filter at regular service intervals or annually in normal conditions
• Replace sooner in dusty, urban, or high-pollen environments

Will switching to an OE filter affect my vehicle’s HVAC performance?

Using an OE-validated filter like the CF197 helps ensure the HVAC system operates as intended by preserving designed airflow characteristics and reducing stress on blower motors. Because GM engineers validate the materials and dimensions, the filter supports consistent heating, cooling, and defogging performance when maintained properly.

• Maintains manufacturer-specified airflow and pressure characteristics
• Helps reduce buildup that can impair blower efficiency
• Designed to integrate with GM HVAC systems without increasing fan load

Who is this for: The ACDelco CF197 (GM 13503677) is for owners and technicians of compatible GM vehicles who want a direct, factory-validated cabin air filter replacement. It’s especially suited to drivers who prioritize correct fit, consistent HVAC performance, and a filter manufactured to GM’s original standards rather than a generic aftermarket alternative.
