Atesilor's 3.780" piston ring compressor is a fixed-diameter, 6061-T6 billet aluminum tool engineered to reliably compress rings and guide pistons into GM LS and LT 4.8L/5.3L cylinders without damaging rings or piston skirts.
When rebuilding, refreshing, or swapping pistons in GM Gen III–V V8 engines, the right ring compressor removes guesswork and reduces the risk of bent rings or scratched skirts. This Atesilor tool is purpose-built for 3.780" bores found on many LM7, L33, LC9, L83, L20, LR4, LY5, LMG and similar engines. CNC-machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum and hard-anodized, it offers a durable, smooth interior taper that pushes rings evenly around the piston circumference so the assembly drops cleanly into the cylinder.
The single-size, tapered bore avoids the slop and pinch points common with adjustable band compressors. A precise, uniform compression reduces ring distortion and prevents thin oil rings from folding or catching.
Manufactured from 6061-T6 billet aluminum for strength and low weight, the compressor is finished with a hard-anodized coating that resists solvents, oils, and mechanical wear. Laser-etched size markings remain legible after repeated use.
This tool covers a broad set of GM Gen III–V small-block applications that use a 3.780" piston diameter. It’s ideal if you frequently work on different LS or LT variants and want one precise tool rather than multiple adjustable compressors.
The inner surface is precision-honed to a smooth taper so rings compress without catching on edges. That consistent pressure around the ring pack reduces the chance of broken or bent rings and avoids marring piston skirts during installation.
Who is this for? Mechanics, engine builders, performance tuners and dedicated DIYers who work on GM LS/LT small-block V8s and want a purpose-made tool that speeds piston installation while protecting fragile oil rings and piston skirts. If you service multiple 4.8L/5.3L engines or build performance engines regularly, the Atesilor 3.780" billet compressor delivers repeatable, damage-free installs and long service life.
Q: Will this compressor fit all LS or LT pistons?
A: It fits pistons with a 3.780" diameter common to many GM 4.8L and 5.3L engines; it’s not universal for other bore sizes.
Q: Can I use this tool on fragile oil rings?
A: Yes—its smooth tapered interior compresses rings evenly to reduce the risk of folding or breakage.
