Bed Buddi Telescoping Truck Bed Hook — Magnetic Mount, 5' Reach, Steel Construction

Bed Buddi is a magnetically mounted, telescoping truck-bed hook that extends to 5 feet to retrieve cargo without climbing into the bed.

Whether you regularly load tools, groceries, or outdoor gear, reaching items at the far end of a pickup bed can be awkward or unsafe. The Bed Buddi combines a strong magnetic mount with a compact 20-inch retracted length and a 5-foot extended reach to keep a retrieval tool handy, secure, and out of the way when not needed. Built from steel with a load-tested hook and pole, it’s designed to make grabbing loose items, straps, and small equipment faster and safer.

How does the Bed Buddi attach and stay out of the way when I’m driving?

The Bed Buddi uses high-strength magnets built into its mounting base so it adheres to steel beds and most bedliners without drilling. When retracted, the entire tool measures about 20 inches and sits low-profile against the bed wall, leaving the cargo area uncluttered.

• Powerful magnetic base secures to steel surfaces and many bedliner finishes.
• Compact 20" retracted length supports multiple mounting positions.
• Quick-release and repositionable — no permanent hardware required.

What reach and strength can I expect when using the telescoping hook?

The telescoping pole extends from 20 inches up to roughly 5 feet, giving enough length to reach deep into long beds, under covers, or around cargo. The steel hook and pole assembly is stress-tested to handle heavy pulls so you can retrieve robust items without bending or climbing.

• Extends to approximately 5 feet for long-reach tasks.
• Steel pole and hook construction for durability and rigidity.
• Successful stress test at over 200 lbs for heavy retrieval jobs.

Can I also use the Bed Buddi to pick up metal objects or reduce trips into the bed?

Yes — the pole can be reversed so the magnets face outward, turning the tool into a magnetic pickup for small metal parts, bolts, and tools. Many users also rely on the Bed Buddi to avoid repeatedly climbing in and out of the truck, saving time and reducing strain.

• Reversible pole lets you use the magnets for metal pickup.
• Reduces unnecessary bed entry — ideal for fast-access items.
• Useful when working solo or on uneven terrain where stepping into the bed is undesirable.

How durable and vehicle-friendly is the Bed Buddi over time?

Constructed from telescoping steel and a metal hook, the Bed Buddi is built for repeated use and outdoor exposure. The magnetic mount holds tightly during travel but is also easy to remove and reposition, minimizing any wear to your bed’s finish when used properly.

• Robust steel components resist bending under load.
• Magnetic mounting avoids drilling and permanent modification.
• Designed for repeated install/removal with minimal surface impact.

Who is this for: The Bed Buddi is aimed at truck owners who want a simple, non-invasive way to retrieve cargo without climbing into the bed — especially handy for vehicles with bed covers, shells, or for anyone who frequently reaches for tools, supplies, or gear. It’s a practical accessory for contractors, outdoor enthusiasts, delivery drivers, and everyday pickup owners who value convenience, safety, and a durable, compact tool that stays out of the way until needed.
