Camco RV Save-A-Step Brace – Heavy-Gauge Steel Stabilizer, 4-5/8"–8" Adjustable, 1,000 lb Capacity

Camco Save-A-Step Brace is a heavy-gauge steel support that stabilizes and protects RV/camper entry steps, rated to 1,000 lb and adjustable from 4-5/8" to 8". The Save-A-Step offers a straightforward, mechanical solution to shaky or sagging RV steps. Instead of loose bolts or worn brackets, this compact brace uses a 3/4" solid metal screw-thread and heavy-gauge steel body to take weight off the step assembly and reduce wobble during entry and exit. It installs quickly under most exterior camper steps and is designed for repeated use across seasons to extend step life and improve safety at the doorway.

How does the brace stop step rocking?

The brace transfers downward force from the step to the trailer frame or ground through a rigid steel shaft and threaded foot. Tightening the 3/4" screw thread creates a snug, immovable contact that removes play between the step and its mounting.

• Rigid heavy-gauge steel body resists bending under load
• 3/4" solid screw thread locks into position to prevent movement
• Adjustable range lets you tension the brace for a rock-solid feel

Will it fit my camper step and different heights?

The Save-A-Step adjusts to match many common exterior step drops, covering a practical height band from 4-5/8" up to 8". Its threaded design allows fine-tuning so you can set a precise, secure contact point even when steps or ground surfaces vary.

• Adjustable length suits 4-5/8"–8" step clearances
• Threaded adjustment for precise height and pressure
• Compact profile fits under most RV and travel-trailer steps

How durable is the construction and how much weight can it handle?

Manufactured from heavy-gauge steel with a solid-thread screw, the brace is built to withstand repeated loading and outdoor conditions. It carries a 1,000 lb load rating, offering confident support for everyday use when entering or exiting your RV.

• Heavy-gauge steel resists long-term sag and deformation
• 1,000 lb rated load capacity for dependable support
• Robust screw thread designed for repeated tightening and release

How simple is installation and maintenance?

Installation is intentionally low-effort: place the brace beneath the step, turn the threaded rod until it seats firmly, and verify stability. Maintenance is minimal — occasional cleaning and inspection of the thread and mounting point keep it working season after season.

• Tool-free or basic-hand-tool setup depending on mounting configuration
• Periodic inspection recommended; wipe clean and lubricate threads if needed
• Portable design allows removal for storage or transport

This Save-A-Step brace is ideal for RV owners who want a practical way to eliminate step wobble and reduce wear on camper stairs. It’s a good fit for travel trailers, fifth-wheels, and pop-outs where entry-step stability matters. If you value easy installation, a compact footprint, and a high load rating to protect family and guests while boarding, this Camco step brace provides a long-lasting, no-fuss solution.
