Chemical Guys Convertible Top Cleaner & Protectant Kit, 2-Piece 16 oz — Foaming Cleaner & Protectant, Gentle on Fabric

Chemical Guys Convertible Top Cleaner & Protectant Kit is a two-step 16 oz system that cleans, restores, and helps protect fabric and vinyl soft tops. This compact kit combines a foaming cleaner and a follow-up protectant designed to revive the look of convertible roofs, tonneau covers, and marine canvas while making future maintenance quicker. The cleaner lifts embedded road film, oily residues, and common stains without stripping dyes or weakening threads, and the protectant helps repel fresh grime so the surface stays cleaner between washes.

The kit is formulated to be gentle on cloth, canvas, and vinyl while effective against bird droppings, tree fallout, grease, and everyday road dirt. Use a soft brush to work the cleaner into seams and contact points, rinse thoroughly, let dry, then apply light, even coats of the protectant. Together they restore a uniform finish and reduce how fast tops re-soil, saving time on regular upkeep.

How does the cleaner remove stubborn grime without damaging the fabric?

The foaming cleaner breaks down oils and lifts trapped particles from fibers and stitched seams, allowing them to be rinsed away without aggressive scrubbing. It’s balanced to avoid fading dyes or degrading stitching, keeping the soft top’s texture and color intact.

• Foaming action lifts embedded dirt for easier rinsing
• Formulation avoids dye fade and thread weakening
• Targets contact points, seams, and rear-window areas

When and how should I apply the protectant for best results?

Apply the protectant only after the top is completely clean and dry. Use light, even passes and allow it to set so the surface resists fresh dirt and makes future cleaning faster.

• Spray sparingly and spread with a microfiber for uniform coverage
• Helps reduce how quickly new grime adheres to the top
• Improves rinse-off during routine washes

Will this kit work on other soft surfaces like tonneau covers and bimini tops?

Yes — the two-piece system is designed for a variety of soft surfaces beyond convertibles. It’s suitable for tonneau covers, Jeep soft tops, and marine canvas when used as instructed.

• Safe for cloth, canvas, and vinyl applications
• Useful for cars, off-road rigs, and boats
• Ideal for both driveway detailing and professional shop use

What tools should I pair with the kit for a proper detailing job?

For best outcomes, combine the kit with a soft detailing brush and premium microfiber towels to agitate, rinse, and dry without abrasion. These tools help the cleaner reach seams and allow the protectant to be applied evenly for a consistent finish.

• Soft-bristled brush for seams and contact points
• High-quality microfiber towels for drying and buffing
• Gentle rinse with low-pressure water to avoid forcing debris into fibers
