Chemical Guys Hex-Logic 6.5 in Buffing Pad Kit — 8-Piece Polishing Set with Hex-Groove Pads & Citrus Cleaner

Chemical Guys Hex-Logic 6.5" Buffing Pad Kit is an eight-piece polishing set with seven purpose-designed pads and a 16 oz citrus pad cleaner, built to fit most hook-and-loop backing plates and tackle cutting, polishing, finishing, and glazing tasks.

This complete pad kit gives detailing enthusiasts a versatile, all-in-one solution for machine polishing. Each pad is laser-cut in a hex pattern to conform to curved and flat surfaces, control heat buildup, and distribute product evenly. The set covers heavy cutting through ultra-fine finishing, and the included citrus-based cleaner removes oils and residues so pads perform like new between uses.

Which pads are included and what does each do?

The kit contains seven color-coded pads designed for progressive stages of paint correction and finishing: heavy cutting, swirl removal, polishing, perfect surface, glaze/cleaning, finishing, and ultra-fine finishing. Each pad’s hex-groove construction holds product at startup and feeds it outward for consistent coverage.

• Yellow heavy cutting pad — aggressive compound removal.
• Orange swirl & scratch remover — reduces light defects and holograms.
• Green heavy polishing pad — high-gloss polish without excessive heat.
• White perfect surface pad — refines after polishing for clarity.
• Blue glaze & light cleaner foam pad — enhances gloss and cleans.
• Black finishing pad — smooth final finish and sealant application.
• Red ultra-fine finishing pad — last-step refinement for mirror-like shine.

Will these pads fit my polisher?

The 6.5-inch diameter and hook-and-loop backing make these pads compatible with a wide range of machines, including dual-action, large-throw orbitals, and many rotary polishers. They pair easily with common backing plates and standard 6" mounting systems used by both pros and hobbyists.

• Fits popular brands: Porter Cable, Flex, Makita, DeWalt, Hitachi, and more.
• Works on dual-action and rotary polishers with 6"+ backing plates.
• Hook-and-loop attachment allows quick pad changes.
• 6.5" size suits large panels and broader passes.

How does the hex design change performance?

Laser-cut hex grooves are engineered to distribute polish and reduce friction, enabling smoother pad movement and more even product delivery. The geometric pattern helps the pad flex over angles and contours while minimizing heat, so you get consistent results with less risk of marring.

• Hex grooves retain product at the center and meter it outward.
• Conforms to curved surfaces for increased contact area.
• Reduces pad heat and friction during longer correction passes.
• Improves control when working near edges and creases.

How do I keep the pads clean and long-lasting?

The included 16-ounce citrus-based pad cleaner removes oils, waxes, and polish residues without degrading foam structure. Regular cleaning restores absorption and cutting/polishing performance so pads last through many detailing sessions.

• Citrus degreaser breaks down waxes and lubricants quickly.
• Use between products to prevent cross-contamination of compounds.
• Follow manufacturer directions: rinse, agitate, and air dry fully.
• Cleaning extends foam life and maintains consistent results.

Who this kit is for: Detailers, auto enthusiasts, and professional shops looking for a compact, adaptable pad set that covers the full polishing spectrum. If you need pads that fit larger 6" backing plates, conform well to complex panel shapes, and come with a dedicated pad cleaner, this Chemical Guys Hex-Logic kit offers a practical, performance-focused solution.
