Chemical Guys V34 Hybrid Cutting Compound 16 oz — Medium-Cut, Water‑Based for 1500–2000 Grit Scratch Removal

Chemical Guys V34 Optical Grade Hybrid Cutting Compound is a medium-cut, water-based compound designed to remove heavy paint defects and 1500–2000 grit sanding scratches while leaving a finish ready for final polishing.

The V34 Hybrid Compound uses optical-grade micro abrasives and a hybrid formulation to cut aggressively yet leave clarity suitable for the next polishing stage. It's water-based, VOC compliant, and engineered for longer work time so technicians and detailers have more control during correction on both ceramic and conventional clear coats. This product removes defects without filling them in, providing permanent correction rather than temporary masking.

How does V34 remove heavy scratches without leaving residue?

V34 relies on fine optical micro abrasives that abrade damaged clear coat efficiently and evenly, not by covering defects with fillers or silicones. The formulation is free of silicones and fillers, so corrected areas remain stable for follow-up polishing and sealant application.

• Removes 1500–2000 grit sanding scratches and swirl marks
• Contains no silicones or fillers for permanent defect removal
• Water-based, OEM-approved hybrid compound
• Leaves finish ready for final polishing and protection

Will V34 work on ceramic-coated or scratch-resistant clear coats?

Yes—V34 was formulated specifically to perform on modern ceramic and scratch-resistant clear coats as well as conventional finishes. Its optical abrasive system is powerful enough to correct defects on durable surfaces without compromising the underlying paint when used correctly.

• Engineered for ceramic and scratch-resistant clear coats
• Balanced cut to avoid overstripping clear coats when used with proper pads and technique
• Effective on both OEM and aftermarket coatings

How do I use V34 for best results and control?

Apply a small amount to a cutting pad on a dual-action or rotary polisher, work at moderate speed and pressure, and allow the extended work time to refine the defect removal before wiping away residue. Finish with a fine polish to maximize gloss and then protect with your chosen sealant or ceramic coating.

• Use with a medium-cut foam or microfiber cutting pad
• Operate polisher at manufacturer-recommended speeds for 1500–2000 grit repairs
• Wipe clean and follow with a finishing polish for maximum clarity
• Seal or coat after polishing for long-term protection

What safety and shop considerations should I know?

V34 is VOC compliant and body-shop safe, making it suitable for professional environments that require regulated products. As with any abrasive compound, use gloves and eye protection and follow typical ventilation and handling guidelines.

• VOC compliant and safe for use in many professional shops
• No silicones means easier downstream adhesion for coatings
• Standard PPE and ventilation recommended during use
