CRC Cold Galvanizing Spray 95% Zinc-Rich Matte Gray 13 oz (12-Pack) Fast-Drying Corrosion Protection

CRC Cold Galvanizing Coating is a fast-drying spray that delivers a 95% zinc-rich, matte-gray protective layer to shield metal surfaces from rust and corrosion.

Designed for professionals and DIYers who need the corrosion resistance of hot-dip galvanizing without immersion, this 13-ounce aerosol provides a convenient, brush-free application. The formula deposits a high-purity zinc film that bonds to metal, forming a durable, flexible finish that hides surface imperfections and creates a sacrificial barrier against oxidation.

How quickly will the coating dry and be ready for handling?

This coating becomes dry to the touch in about 15 minutes under normal conditions, allowing for rapid job turnaround. Full handling strength and maximum adhesion develop after additional cure time, depending on humidity and temperature.

• Touch dry in approximately 15 minutes at room temperature.
• Handle gently after several hours; full cure takes longer.
• Performance can vary with climate—warmer, drier air speeds drying.

What kind of corrosion protection does the product provide?

The spray delivers a zinc-rich coating composed of approximately 95% pure zinc that acts sacrificially to protect underlying steel. It mimics many benefits of hot-dip galvanizing by supplying a conductive zinc layer that corrodes first, extending the service life of the substrate.

• Contains about 95% pure zinc for active corrosion deterrence.
• Forms a continuous, electrically conductive film over metal.
• Designed to slow rust formation on exposed steel and iron.

Which surfaces and situations is this spray best suited for?

Use this coating on bare or lightly prepared steel and iron components, including outdoor equipment, structural parts, and fasteners. It's especially useful for touch-ups, fabrication shops, maintenance crews, and restoration tasks where dunking parts in molten zinc isn’t practical.

• Touch-ups on welded seams, cut edges, and drilled holes.
• Maintenance of railings, fences, machinery, and brackets.
• Ideal for field repairs and parts that can’t be hot-dip galvanized.

How does the matte finish affect appearance and subsequent coatings?

The coating dries to a smooth matte-gray surface that reduces glare and provides a neutral base for topcoats. If you plan to paint, the surface accepts compatible primers and paints after adequate cure and light sanding if needed.

• Matte gray finish conceals blemishes and blends with industrial aesthetics.
• Accepts overcoating—ensure proper surface prep and cure time first.
• Flexible film resists cracking on bent or formed parts.

Who is this for? Maintenance technicians, metal fabricators, contractors, and serious DIYers will value this CRC cold galvanizing spray when they need fast, portable corrosion protection. It’s well suited for on-site repairs, preventive maintenance, and production touch-ups where hot-dip galvanizing is impractical or impossible. Sold here as a 12-can quantity, it’s a cost-effective option for shops and crews that perform frequent metal restoration and protection work.
