Thread the correct-sized nut onto the exposed stud of the ball joint, steering knuckle, or strut assembly and strike the nut with an impact hammer. The nut concentrates the percussion directly at the joint, forcing the stud free without using pry bars that can harm surrounding parts.
The kit covers the most common metric thread sizes found on European and Japanese suspension components. Select the appropriate thread pitch before use to ensure safe, secure engagement with the stud.
Yes — by threading the correct nut onto a stuck wheel stud, an impact strike will drive the stud out of the hub. This provides a controlled, straightforward method for wheel stud replacement without resorting to hammering around the hub face.
Always match the nut pitch to the stud before threading to avoid cross-threading or stud damage. Use proper eye and hand protection, position the vehicle securely on jack stands, and strike the nut with measured force from a suitable impact hammer.
Q: Will these nuts fit my vehicle's ball joint studs?
A: Match your stud thread diameter and pitch to the kit sizes (M12×1.25, M12×1.5, M14×1.5, M16×1.5) to ensure correct fit.
Q: Can I use these with a standard hammer instead of an impact hammer?
A: They're designed for impact hammers; using a standard hammer risks damaging the nut or stud and is not recommended.
