Dorman Front Driver-Side Exterior Door Handle for Chevrolet & GMC Trucks — 77261, Direct-Fit Replacement

The Dorman 77261 front driver side exterior door handle is a direct-fit replacement made to match the look and function of the original factory handle for many Chevrolet and GMC trucks and SUVs.

If your truck’s exterior door handle is cracked, faded, or no longer latches reliably, this Dorman replacement restores appearance and operation without the dealer price. Engineered to match the original handle’s dimensions and style, the part is designed specifically for the driver-side front door on a range of Chevrolet and GMC models from late 1990s through mid‑2000s. Before ordering, verify fitment by entering your vehicle trim in the seller’s garage tool to confirm compatibility for your year and model.

Will this handle fit my Chevrolet or GMC truck?

Compatibility is vehicle- and position-specific; the 77261 is manufactured to replace the front driver-side exterior handle on selected Chevy and GMC models. Check the confirmed fit information and your vehicle trim in the fitment tool prior to purchase to avoid returns.

• Designed for driver-side front door on listed Chevrolet and GMC years and models
• Verify fit by entering vehicle trim in the garage/fitment tool
• Look for additional fit notes (blue “i”) that may require further verification

How closely does the Dorman handle match the original equipment?

This replacement was produced to mirror the factory handle’s appearance, mounting points, and operation so it blends with the original door styling. That makes installation simpler and keeps your truck’s exterior looking stock, with compatible hardware locations and dimensions.

• Exterior design matched to original factory look and finish
• Mounting points and dimensions engineered to align with stock door openings
• Intended to operate with existing latch and linkage arrangements

What should I expect during installation?

Installation is similar to replacing any exterior door handle: remove the interior door panel to access mounting fasteners and linkage, swap the old handle for the new, and test operation before reassembly. Basic hand tools and attention to clips and connections will make the process straightforward for a DIYer or technician.

• Interior door panel removal required to access fasteners and linkage
• Retain or transfer any lock cylinder or trim pieces if needed
• Test latch and lock operation before reattaching the door panel
