Manufactured with durable materials and backed by Dorman's long-standing automotive expertise, this knob is intended to make repair fast and restore the intended tactile feedback and appearance of the original control.

Will this knob physically fit my vehicle and replace the original control?

The 76849 is made to replicate the dimensions and mounting style of the factory radio knobs for the models listed by Dorman. Fitment depends on the specific make, model and trim level; always verify compatibility before ordering to avoid returns.

• Compare your existing knob’s shaft type and diameter to the replacement.
• Use the vehicle lookup (make, model, trim) to confirm fit.
• Check the product listing for vehicle-specific callouts and fit notes.

How durable is the replacement knob for everyday use?

This Dorman knob is produced from quality materials intended to withstand regular handling and resist wear that commonly affects plastic controls. While it isn't a cosmetic upgrade beyond OEM, the construction aims to provide dependable performance and longevity for routine operation.

• Engineered for repeated rotational and push/pull use.
• Resistant to fading and surface wear compared to aged originals.
• Backed by Dorman product support and decades of automotive parts experience.

How easy is installation—do I need special tools?

Installing the 76849 knob is usually a simple procedure that requires minimal tools and basic hand skills. Most installations involve pulling off the old knob and pressing the new one onto the control shaft; some dash assemblies or locking clips may require a small screwdriver.

• Typical install: pull-off old knob and press-on replacement.
• Use a flat tool to release any retaining clips if present.
• Allow a quick visual check to ensure the knob sits square and operates smoothly.

What does this knob restore beyond appearance?

Beyond cosmetic renewal, the knob restores functional grip and proper contact with the radio’s control shaft so tuning, volume, and other adjustments perform as intended. Replacing a damaged knob also prevents accidental slipping and improves the ergonomics of the dashboard controls.

• Restores positive tactile feedback for reliable adjustments.
• Prevents further wear to the control shaft by ensuring correct fit.
• Improves the dash’s finished look and user confidence in the controls.
