DURATECH 12-Inch Oil Filter Pliers & 3-Jaw Adjustable Wrench Set — Heavy-Duty, Rust-Resistant

DURATECH's 12-inch oil filter pliers and 3-jaw adjustable oil filter wrench are a matched heavy-duty set built to grip, reach, and remove most car oil filters with reliable leverage and corrosion-resistant durability.

This paired toolkit combines a long-handled, serrated-jaw plier with a three-jaw adjustable wrench so you can tackle stuck, oily, or hard-to-reach filters without improvising. Both tools are forged from heat-treated steel and finished to resist rust, giving you solid torque and a comfortable, slip-resistant grip. The set covers a broad range of filter diameters and fits common ratchet driver sizes, making it a practical addition to home garages and professional bays.

How do these tools help remove stuck or oily filters?

The serrated 12-inch pliers provide extra reach and bite for filters in tight engine bays, while the 3-jaw wrench self-centers and clamps smooth, oil-covered housings. Use the pliers when you need leverage and access; use the wrench when you need a secure, even grip around the filter circumference.

• 12-inch handles increase torque and reach into cramped spaces.
• Serrated teeth on pliers prevent slipping on oily surfaces.
• 3-jaw design adapts and centers across 63–103 mm diameters.
• Accepts 3/8" or 1/2" ratchet drive for controlled turning.

What materials and finishes keep these tools reliable over time?

Both tools are forged from hardened, heat-treated steel to resist bending under heavy torque. After forging they receive a rust-resistant finish that helps maintain function and appearance even after repeated exposure to oil and shop fluids.

• Drop-forged steel construction for high hardness and strength.
• Heat treatment increases wear resistance under torque loads.
• Rust-resistant surface finish for longer service life.
• Durable handles designed for repeated use in harsh conditions.

Which filter sizes and vehicles will this set fit?

The 3-jaw wrench automatically adjusts to a wide diameter range, while the pliers provide a universal clamping solution for irregular or damaged filters. Together they cover most common automotive and light truck oil filter sizes and many small-engine filters.

• 3-jaw wrench fits filters roughly 63–103 mm in diameter.
• Pliers work on irregular, dented, or uniquely shaped housings.
• Recommended for most passenger cars, light trucks, and common engine types.
• Compatible with 3/8" or 1/2" ratchet handle on the wrench (ratchet not included).

How do I use each tool safely and effectively?

Position the three jaws evenly around the filter, attach a ratchet drive, and apply steady torque to avoid sudden slips. For the pliers, center the serrated jaws on the filter, hold the handle firmly and use controlled leverage—avoid overextension in confined spaces.

• Ensure engine is cool and drain oil before removing the filter.
• Use steady, even force with a ratchet on the 3-jaw wrench to prevent damage.
• Grip with both hands on the pliers for controlled leverage in tight bays.
• Inspect jaws for oil and debris; clean after use to maintain grip.
