This four-piece set provides a compact, corrosion-resistant transition between an AN6 (9/16-18 UNF) flare fitting and a 1/4" NPT pipe thread. Machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished with an anodized black surface, these adapters are built to be lightweight and suited to automotive and industrial fluid routing where flare fittings and tapered pipe threads must join.
The body is CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum for good strength-to-weight ratio and corrosion resistance. The AN side is a standard 37° flare with 9/16-18 UNF threads while the pipe side uses 1/4" NPT tapered threads that seal by thread deformation.
Because NPT threads seal by taper and thread deformation, use a quality pipe thread sealant or PTFE tape on the NPT male threads before assembly. Hand-start the threads, then tighten to suitable torque; avoid over-tightening aluminum components.
They’re commonly used in fuel, coolant, power steering, brake reservoirs (where compatible), and other fluid-transfer systems that mix AN flare lines with NPT pipe fittings. Use them in low- to moderate-pressure applications where aluminum is suitable.
Aluminum fittings are lightweight and corrosion-resistant but can be softer than steel, so avoid repeated over-tightening. Confirm chemical compatibility for the fluids in your system—aluminum is suitable for many automotive fluids but check manufacturer guidance for specialty chemicals.
Who is this for: This 4-pack from EVIL ENERGY targets DIY mechanics, race-shop fabricators, and garage professionals who need a reliable, lightweight adapter to join AN6 37° flare hoses to 1/4" NPT ports. It’s ideal when you need a compact, anodized aluminum transition piece for fuel, cooling, or other low- to moderate-pressure fluid systems where weight and corrosion resistance matter.
Q: Does this adapter require sealant on the NPT side?
A: Yes. Use PTFE tape or a pipe thread sealant on the 1/4" NPT male threads to ensure a leak-free seal.
Q: Can these adapters be used with high-pressure systems?
A: They suit low- to moderate-pressure fluid systems; verify pressure requirements and fluid compatibility before high-pressure use.
