EVIL ENERGY Thermostat Housing Assembly for 1.4L GM Engines — Buick Encore/Cruze/Sonic/Trax, Complete Kit with Thermostat & Gasket

EVIL ENERGY's thermostat housing assembly is a complete replacement kit designed to restore proper coolant flow control for 1.4L GM engines, including Buick Encore and multiple Chevrolet models.

If your vehicle is running cold too long, overheating, leaking coolant, or showing temperature fluctuations, a worn or damaged thermostat housing assembly can be the culprit. This EVIL ENERGY kit includes the thermostat, a precision-molded plastic housing, a rubber gasket, and nitrile gloves so you can replace the entire unit with minimal fuss. It replaces several OE numbers (including 55565336 and 902-808) and fits a range of 1.4L gasoline engines across model years 2011–2021.

How does this thermostat housing assembly affect engine temperature control?

The thermostat within the housing senses coolant temperature and opens at the designed temperature (about 217.4°F) to allow flow to the radiator. A functioning assembly helps the engine reach and maintain optimal operating temperature more quickly and consistently.

• Pre-set opening temperature around 217.4°F for reliable activation.
• Complete housing replacement prevents leaks from cracked or warped factory parts.
• New gasket ensures a tight seal to avoid coolant loss.

Will this part fit my Buick Encore, Chevy Cruze, Sonic, or Trax?

This EVIL ENERGY assembly is made to fit 1.4L L4 gasoline engines across specified model years: Buick Encore (2013–2021), Chevrolet Sonic (2012–2020), Chevrolet Trax (2013–2021), and Chevrolet Cruze (2011–2016 and 2016 Cruze Limited). It directly replaces several OE part numbers for straightforward compatibility.

• Replaces OE references: 55565336, 55579010, 55593034, 34709, 902-808, and more.
• Designed for 1.4L L4 gasoline engine configurations listed by year and model.
• Check your vehicle’s OEM part number to confirm match before purchase.

What comes in the EVIL ENERGY thermostat housing kit and why it matters?

The kit includes the thermostat, plastic housing, a rubber gasket, and a pair of nitrile gloves — everything needed to replace the assembly as a single unit. Replacing all components together reduces the chance of future leaks or premature failure that can occur when only one component is swapped.

• Thermostat: pre-calibrated for reliable opening temperature.
• Plastic housing: molded to match OEM fit and coolant passages.
• Rubber gasket: forms a watertight seal to prevent coolant seepage.
• Nitrile gloves: protect hands and keep parts clean during installation.

How difficult is installation and what should I prepare for?

Installation is moderate in difficulty and typically requires basic hand tools and some mechanical experience. You’ll need to drain part of the cooling system, remove the old housing, transfer any sensors if applicable, and install the new assembly with the included gasket.

• Basic tools: socket set, screwdrivers, pliers, and coolant catch pan.
• Park on level ground and let the engine cool fully before starting.
• Refill and bleed the cooling system after installation to avoid air pockets.

Who is this for: EVIL ENERGY’s thermostat housing assembly suits DIY mechanics, independent repair shops, and vehicle owners who need a full replacement for failing thermostat housings on compatible 1.4L Buick and Chevrolet models. If you want a single kit that swaps the thermostat, housing, and seal at once—and restores reliable engine temperature regulation—this part is engineered for that purpose. Always verify fitment against your vehicle’s VIN or OEM part number before ordering.
