Fel‑Pro MS 97649 is a complete intake manifold gasket set engineered to restore a reliable seal on Chevrolet Colorado engines, replacing all necessary gaskets and components for a professional repair.

This Fel‑Pro gasket set is built specifically for the repair environment, using application‑specific materials and proprietary sealing technologies to accommodate imperfect sealing surfaces and deliver a long‑lasting seal. The MS 97649 kit is developed, reviewed and validated by Fel‑Pro engineers and tested on vehicles to ensure fit, function and durability for Colorado owners and technicians who need dependable replacement parts.

What exactly is included in the MS 97649 set and why does it matter?

The kit contains all intake manifold gaskets and ancillary seals required for a complete replacement on compatible Chevrolet Colorado engines, eliminating the need to source parts separately. Having every piece included reduces installation time and avoids mismatched materials that can lead to leaks.

• Complete set of intake manifold gaskets tailored to GM dimensions
• Ancillary O‑rings and seals to replace all wear points
• Materials chosen to resist heat, oil and coolant exposure
• Ready for direct swap with factory mounting locations

How does Fel‑Pro design improve sealing on imperfect surfaces?

Fel‑Pro designs its gaskets to compensate for typical surface irregularities found during repairs. Proprietary materials and sealing features conform to warpage, scratches and pitting better than generic gaskets, giving a more reliable contact and reducing leak risk under thermal cycling.

• Conformable sealing materials to follow uneven surfaces
• Engineered sealing beads and tension points for consistent compression
• Materials formulated for long‑term resistance to engine fluids
• Manufactured tolerances that match OEM mounting geometry

Will this gasket set fit my Chevrolet Colorado and how do I confirm compatibility?

MS 97649 is designed for specific Colorado engine configurations—always verify fitment using the vehicle year, engine code and OEM part cross‑reference before purchase. Fel‑Pro provides part‑to‑vehicle references to help ensure you get the correct set for your exact application.

• Check vehicle year, engine size and VIN details against fitment charts
• Compare OEM part numbers where available for exact match
• Use Fel‑Pro or retailer compatibility tools before ordering
• Contact a technician if unsure about engine variations or updates

How does the MS 97649 kit affect repair time and service quality?

Because the set supplies all required gaskets and seals in one kit, it streamlines the repair process and reduces trips to the parts counter. Complete kits reduce the chance of leaving out essential seals, improving first‑time repair success and post‑service reliability.

• One‑box solution cuts parts sourcing and wait time
• Reduces rework from missed or mismatched seals
• Engineered fit minimizes adjustment during installation
• Tested on‑vehicle to mirror service conditions technicians encounter
