Flojet Macerator Pump 12V RV Waste Pump 18555-000A — 9 GPM, Stainless-Steel Grinder, 3/4" Hose

The Flojet 18555-000A macerator pump is a compact 12V waste pump that grinds and evacuates RV holding tanks quickly using a 3/4" garden-hose connection.

Designed for campers and RV owners who want a cleaner, faster way to empty black and gray tanks, this Flojet unit replaces bulky 3" sewer hoses with a lightweight 3/4" hose hookup. The pump’s stainless-steel macerator chops solids down to roughly 1/8" particles and, with up to 9 gallons per minute output, can clear a typical 40-gallon tank in about five minutes. Built for intermittent duty and equipped with practical accessories like a remote on/off switch, rinse/back-wash valve and a carry case, it’s intended to simplify campground waste disposal while limiting clogs and handling common wastewater safely.

How fast will this pump empty my RV tank?

At its rated flow of up to 9 gallons per minute, the Flojet 18555-000A can empty a 40-gallon holding tank in roughly five minutes under normal conditions. Actual time depends on hose layout, elevation, and tank contents.

• Rated output: up to 9 GPM for high-speed drainage.
• Designed to clear a 40-gallon tank in about five minutes in typical setups.
• 3/4" garden-hose connection reduces hose size and simplifies handling.
• Performance varies with head height, hose length, and solids load.

What does the stainless-steel macerator do for maintenance?

The stainless-steel grinder shreds organic solids into fine particles (around 1/8") to promote smooth flow and reduce clogging risk in narrow hoses. It helps maintain consistent performance when used as directed, but it’s not intended for non-organic items.

• Stainless-steel blades macerate solids to approximately 1/8" particles.
• Helps prevent blockages in 3/4" discharge hose for faster emptying.
• Avoid flushing rags, wipes, or other non-organic items to protect the grinder.
• Rinse/back-wash valve assists in clearing the pump and hose after use.

How easy is it to install and operate on a 12V RV system?

Installation and operation are straightforward: the pump runs on standard 12V DC and includes a remote on/off switch with a 6-foot wire harness for convenient control. The unit is self-priming for quick starts and fits common portable or semi-permanent setups.

• 12V DC motor draws up to 16.5 amps at maximum load.
• Self-priming design simplifies startup without complex plumbing.
• Remote switch with 6' harness for easy activation outside the camper.
• Carry case included for portable installations and storage.

What should I know about durability and safe use?

The Flojet is built with a fully enclosed motor and stainless steel macerator for corrosion resistance and dependable intermittent-duty operation. Follow usage guidelines to avoid damage from inappropriate solids or continuous operation.

• Fully enclosed motor protects internal components from moisture and debris.
• Rated for intermittent duty—avoid continuous run cycles to prevent overheating.
• Use rinse/back-wash valve to flush the system after pumping waste.
• Not suitable for non-organic solids like cloth, wipes, or metals.

Who is this for: The Flojet 18555-000A is aimed at RV owners, campervan travelers and outdoor enthusiasts who want a fast, portable solution to empty black and gray tanks without bulky sewer hoses. It’s ideal for those who value compact storage, quick setup, and reliable maceration—people who regularly need to pump wastewater at campsites, seasonal lots, or during boondocking where conventional sewer hookups are unavailable. Not recommended for applications requiring continuous duty or for pumping non-organic solids.
