Gates Molded Coolant Hose 22437 - 18" EPDM Reinforced Radiator Hose, OE Fit

The Gates 22437 Premium Molded Coolant Hose is a ready-to-install, OE-quality molded radiator hose engineered for long-lasting coolant circulation in upper, lower, bypass and heater applications.

Designed and manufactured to meet demanding replacement standards, this molded coolant hose from Gates delivers a pre-shaped, reinforced connection that installs like the original equipment. Built from EPDM with synthetic fiber reinforcement and a protective sleeve, it resists vacuum collapse, ozone, heat and chemical exposure so you can replace a failed hose quickly and with confidence.

Will this Gates hose fit my vehicle and replace the OE part?

This molded hose is produced to match common OE dimensions and routing for the listed applications, providing a precise fit and sealed connections. Its pre-shaped design reduces installation adjustments and helps restore original coolant flow without costly re-routing.

• Dimensions: 1 17/32" x 1 17/32" x 18" with protective sleeve.
• Engineered to replace upper, lower, bypass and heater hose positions.
• Manufactured to meet SAE 20R4 class D2 and DIN 73411 class A tolerances.

How does the material and construction improve durability?

Gates uses an EPDM inner tube and EPDM cover with a synthetic fiber knit reinforcement to resist the primary failure modes of radiator hoses. The materials are selected to withstand heat, ozone and typical coolant chemistries so the hose resists swelling, cracking and electrochemical degradation.

• EPDM tube and cover resist heat and chemical exposure.
• Synthetic fiber knit reinforcement maintains shape under pressure.
• Formulated to resist electrochemical degradation, a common damage mechanism.

What temperature range and service conditions can it handle?

The Gates 22437 is rated for a wide operating range suitable for most light‑duty automotive cooling systems. It performs reliably across extreme ambient and engine temperatures and is engineered to resist collapse under vacuum conditions encountered during heat cycles.

• Operating temperature: -40°F to +257°F (-40°C to +125°C).
• Designed to resist collapse under vacuum and repeated thermal cycling.
• Protective sleeve included to guard against abrasion and localized heat.

How easy is installation and what should I prepare for?

Because the hose is pre-shaped to match OE routing, installation is straightforward and typically requires only standard hand tools and new clamps. Inspect mating surfaces, drain the coolant to a safe level, and replace clamps to ensure a leak-free connection after installation.

• Pre-shaped form cuts installation time and reduces fitment adjustments.
• Replace clamps and inspect radiator, fittings and thermostat housing for wear.
• Refill coolant and pressure-test the system after installation.

Who is this for: The Gates 22437 Premium Molded Coolant Hose is ideal for DIY mechanics, independent repair shops and fleet maintenance technicians seeking a direct replacement that matches OEM fit and performance. If you need a durable, pre-shaped hose that resists ozone, heat and coolant chemicals while meeting SAE and DIN specifications, this hose provides a cost-effective alternative to dealer-sourced parts.
