Gates Windshield Washer & Vacuum Hose 1/4" ID, 50 ft Reel — Heat- and Ozone-Resistant Flexible Tubing

Gates 27044 is a 50-foot, 1/4" inner diameter windshield washer and vacuum hose engineered to stay flexible and resist heat, ozone, coolant and kinking for reliable under-hood and exterior fluid routing.

This long-length Gates tubing replaces stiff PVC lines for windshield washer systems, headlight washers, vacuum-actuated accessories, and overflow or drip drainage. Made for the harsher environment around engines and chassis, the hose keeps pliability for easy routing and service while standing up to heat, chemicals and ozone that commonly degrade ordinary hoses.

How does this hose handle high under-hood temperatures?

The Gates 27044 is formulated to resist heat and ozone exposure so it won’t harden or crack quickly where engine heat and exhaust can affect softer materials. That stability preserves connections and prevents leaks even after repeated thermal cycles.

• Engineered compound resists elevated temperatures and ozone attack
• Maintains flexibility to reduce stress at fittings
• Less prone to cracking compared with standard PVC tubing

Can this tubing be used for vacuum-operated accessories?

Yes — the hose’s vacuum-resistant construction supports small-vacuum lines for door locks, actuators and other vacuum-controlled components without collapsing under suction. Its consistent inner diameter helps maintain reliable airflow for accessory operation.

• 1/4" inner diameter suited for many automotive vacuum circuits
• Resists collapse under negative pressure
• Long 50' length allows multiple runs or repairs from a single reel

Is the Gates hose suitable for windshield washer and headlight washer systems?

Absolutely — the tubing replaces brittle PVC commonly used for washer lines and resists coolant, washer fluid and environmental exposure. You can route it through engine bays or exterior channels without rapid deterioration.

• Chemical resistance to washer fluids and common automotive coolants
• Flexible for tight bends and easy installation near hinges and pumps
• Kink-resistant design keeps flow steady to nozzles and jets

What practical benefits does the 50-foot length provide?

A 50' spool covers multiple repairs or lets you cut custom lengths for several vehicles, saving time and trips to the parts store. It also makes it simple to stock a reliable replacement for both routine maintenance and unforeseen leaks.

• Enough material for several runs or many short repairs
• Simplifies inventory for shops and DIYers
• Cut-to-fit convenience for any required length

Who is this for: The Gates 27044 hose is ideal for automotive DIYers, independent mechanics and fleet maintenance teams who need a durable, all-purpose 1/4" tube for windshield washer lines, headlight washers, vacuum circuits and overflow drains. If you want a long-lasting, flexible replacement for brittle PVC tubing or a versatile spool that covers multiple jobs, this Gates tubing is designed for that role.
