GEARWRENCH Magnetic Fender Cover 86991 — Heavy‑Duty Washable Vinyl with Cushioned Non‑Slip Surface

GEARWRENCH Magnetic Fender Cover 86991 is a heavy‑duty, washable vinyl fender protector with integrated magnets and a cushioned, non‑slip surface that shields vehicle paint from grease, scratches, and tool scuffs while you work under the hood.

When performing maintenance or repairs, protecting the vehicle finish is essential. The GEARWRENCH 86991 Fender Cover combines a thick, slip‑resistant vinyl surface with nylon mesh reinforcement and powerful magnets so the cover stays in place and resists oil, coolant, and common shop fluids. Its soft, cushioned interior prevents tools from causing chips or abrasions, and the PVC construction wipes clean easily for repeated use.

How does this fender cover protect my car while I work?

The cover creates a cushioned barrier between tools, greasy hands, and the painted surfaces of the fender and cowl. Its soft, padded face absorbs impact and prevents metal edges from contacting paint, while the slip‑resistant finish keeps tools from sliding off.

• Thick cushioned layer prevents scratches and scuffs
• Non‑slip vinyl holds tools in place during repairs
• Reinforced nylon mesh adds durability at stress points

Will it stay put on sloped or oily fender surfaces?

Yes—the cover includes embedded magnets that secure it to steel panels, and its textured vinyl resists sliding on slightly inclined or slick surfaces. That combination reduces the need to constantly reposition the protector during work.

• Strong magnets anchor the cover to steel fenders
• Slip‑resistant material prevents shifting even if damp
• Fits a variety of fender contours without bunching

Is the material easy to clean and resistant to shop fluids?

The GEARWRENCH 86991 is crafted from PVC reinforced with nylon mesh, making it both washable and resistant to common automotive fluids like motor oil, coolant, brake fluid, and lacquer thinner. Dirt and grease wipe away quickly so the cover is ready for the next job.

• PVC surface resists staining and chemical absorption
• Machine‑washable or hand‑wipeable for convenience
• Durable construction holds up to repeated garage use

What practical features help prevent tools from damaging the paint?

Beyond cushioning, the cover’s soft touch and slip‑resistant finish reduce tool movement and accidental impacts. The reinforced edges and overall thickness add a protective buffer where tools are most often placed.

• Soft, padded face cushions dropped or dragged tools
• Slip‑resistant texture minimizes tool roll and slide
• Reinforced seams extend service life under frequent use

It’s particularly useful in busy shops, home garages, and for mobile technicians who need a compact, easy‑to‑clean solution that stays in place on steel panels.
