GEN-Y Hitch stainless steel hitch pin 5/8" diameter — 3.5" usable length, 16,000 lb shear, self-locking clip

GEN-Y Hitch Pin & Clip (5/8" diameter, 3.5" usable length) is a single-piece, American-made stainless steel hitch pin with a self-locking twist clip engineered for heavy-duty towing and corrosion resistance.

Built from AISI Type 303 stainless steel and proudly manufactured in the USA, this GEN-Y hitch pin replaces flimsy, multi-part alternatives with a one-piece design that resists rust and delivers dependable performance. Its 16,000 lb shear rating and 5/8" diameter make it suitable for demanding towing tasks, while the 3.5" usable span fits most 2" and 2.5" receiver setups. The included twist clip stays attached and locks securely, so you avoid lost parts and constant readjustments on the road.

How does this pin hold up under heavy loads?

The GEN-Y pin is engineered to withstand serious stress with a rated 16,000 lb shear strength. That rating reflects the pin’s material choice and solid construction, giving you a safety margin beyond light-duty pins. It’s intended for heavy towing accessories and frequent use without deforming.

• 16,000 lb shear strength for heavy-duty towing scenarios
• Solid AISI Type 303 stainless steel construction resists bending
• Single-piece design eliminates weak joints found in cheaper pins

Will this pin resist rust and road corrosion?

Yes—made from AISI Type 303 stainless steel, the GEN-Y pin offers superior corrosion resistance compared with zinc-plated or mild-steel pins. That makes it a better choice for year-round use, coastal conditions, and wet environments where rust shortens the life of other pins.

• Stainless steel alloy prevents surface corrosion and pitting
• Smooth finish slows grime accumulation and eases cleaning
• American manufacturing and quality control reduce material inconsistencies

How does the twist clip improve installation and security?

The integrated self-locking twist clip replaces loose push clips and cotter pins, offering one-handed installation and secure retention. The clip remains attached to the pin, so you won’t misplace it during use or storage. The twist action locks firmly, minimizing rattle and ensuring the hitch stays in place.

• Self-locking twist mechanism for quick, secure connections
• Retention design keeps clip attached to the pin to prevent loss
• Reduces hitch rattle for quieter towing performance

Does this fit my trailer or accessory reliably?

This pin is designed with a 5/8" diameter and 3.5" usable length to suit most 2" and 2.5" receiver systems. The dimensions are optimized to provide a snug, rattle-minimizing fit while accommodating common hitch accessory sizes. If your setup requires a different diameter or length, verify receiver and shank measurements before purchase.

• 5/8" diameter for strong, secure engagement in standard receivers
• 3.5" usable length fits most 2" and 2.5" hitch systems
• Precision sizing reduces play and improves towing stability

Who this is for: The GEN-Y 5/8" Hitch Pin & Clip is aimed at drivers, contractors, and recreational vehicle owners who demand a durable, low-maintenance fastening solution. Choose this pin if you frequently tow heavy loads, need corrosion resistance for all-weather use, or want a secure, hassle-free locking clip that won’t get lost. It’s a practical upgrade for anyone replacing worn or cheap pins and for those who prefer American-made hardware backed by responsive customer support.
