Goldenrod See-Through Fuel Filter Replacement Bowl 495-4 — Alcohol-Resistant Polymer, Built-In Drain

Replacement Goldenrod 495-4 see-thru fuel filter bowl made from alcohol-resistant polymer for durable visual fuel monitoring and easy sediment draining.

This replacement bowl fits Goldenrod See-Through fuel tank filter models and compatible units (items 1703, 170305, 170306, 17041). Designed to withstand ethanol-blended fuels and cold-weather conditions, the polymer construction reduces the risk of cracking compared with brittle materials. The transparent design lets you confirm fuel flow and catch debris before it reaches the engine, while the integrated sediment drain valve simplifies routine maintenance.

Will this bowl fit my Goldenrod filter model?

Yes — the 495-4 replacement bowl is made for Goldenrod See-Through filter lines and specific model sizes. Check your filter model number and hose fitting thread size to ensure compatibility.

• Fits Goldenrod See-Through models: 495, 495-3/4, 496, 496-3/4, 497, and 497-3/4.
• Compatible with replacement items 1703, 170305, 170306, and 17041.
• Uses standard U.S. NPT hose fitting size — confirm your tank fittings match.

How does the material handle ethanol-blended fuels and weather?

The bowl is molded from an alcohol-resistant polymer specifically selected to resist degradation from ethanol and other fuel additives. That resilience helps maintain clarity and structural integrity across temperature swings and prolonged exposure to harsh conditions.

• Alcohol-resistant polymer resists cracking from fuel additives.
• Maintains transparency for visual checks in cold and hot conditions.
• Durable enough for regular element changes when used with proper tools.

How do I drain sediment and service the filter without damaging the bowl?

The replacement bowl includes a built-in sediment drain valve to remove water and particles easily. When replacing the filter element, Goldenrod recommends using the specific filter wrench to avoid applying uneven torque that can crack the bowl.

• Integrated drain valve allows fast removal of settled debris and water.
• Use Goldenrod filter wrench (item #17050) to loosen the bowl safely.
• Service steps: drain, loosen with wrench, change element, re-tighten to manufacturer torque guidance.

What practical advantages does a see-through bowl give me?

Visible bowls let you assess fuel clarity and spot contamination before it causes problems. Routine visual inspections speed up troubleshooting and can reduce downtime by revealing when an element needs replacement.

• Instant visual confirmation of fuel flow and contamination.
• Detects water, rust, and large particulates early.
• Saves time on diagnostics compared with opaque housings.

Who is this for: This Goldenrod 495-4 replacement bowl is aimed at marine, outdoor power, and small-engine owners who use See-Through Goldenrod filters and need a durable, alcohol-resistant replacement part. It suits boaters, landscapers, fleet maintenance teams, and DIY mechanics who want reliable visual monitoring and straightforward sediment removal. For safe element replacement and to reduce risk of cracking, pair the bowl with Goldenrod’s 17050 filter wrench during service.
