Hipa Carburetor Replacement Kit for Kohler SV600 SV590 20 853 33-S Pre-Tuned Wet-Flow Tested

Hipa 20 853 33-S is a complete carburetor replacement kit engineered to restore fuel delivery and reliable starting for Kohler Courage 20-series small engines.

When your Kohler-powered mower or garden tractor runs rough, stalls, or struggles to start, a worn or clogged carburetor is often the culprit. This Hipa kit replaces the OEM 20 853 33-S (and compatible 20-series part numbers) with a factory-tuned assembly and a selection of essential maintenance parts so you can get back to mowing with minimal downtime. Built from corrosion-resistant materials and wet-flow tested for consistent operation, the unit is supplied ready to install with the most commonly replaced filters and gaskets.

How is the Hipa carburetor built and tested for reliability?

This carburetor uses durable metals and precision plastics to resist heat, corrosion, and wear in garden equipment environments. Each unit is wet-flow tested to simulate operating conditions and arrives factory-tuned so no additional adjustment is typically required.

• Anodized aluminum carburetor body for strength and thermal stability.
• Brass internal components and a zinc-plated float bowl for corrosion resistance.
• High-density plastic float to maintain consistent fuel levels.
• Wet-flow testing during manufacturing to verify fuel delivery characteristics.

What parts are included and what maintenance tasks can I complete with this kit?

The Hipa package is intended as an all-in-one tune-up kit for mid-sized Kohler engines, reducing the need to source multiple parts separately. It contains the carburetor plus common consumables to perform a thorough servicing while installing the new unit.

• Hipa 20 853 33-S carburetor (pre-tuned).
• Gasket kit to seal the intake and mounting surfaces.
• Air filter and pre-filter to protect the intake from debris.
• Fuel pump, fuel filter, oil filter, and a replacement spark plug for a broader refresh.

What size and measurements should I check before installing?

Confirming a few key dimensions avoids fitment problems and speeds installation. Hipa provides the mounting and bore dimensions that match the Kohler SV600S family, but measure your engine's manifold before beginning.

• Mounting hole center-to-center: 52 mm.
• Throttle bore diameter: 26 mm; choke bore diameter: 32 mm.
• Venturi diameter: 24 mm; fuel inlet line diameter: 7.5 mm.
• Verify throttle and choke linkage alignment with your model.

Who is this for: This Hipa carburetor kit suits DIY small-engine mechanics, landscape professionals, and homeowners who maintain Kohler-powered riding mowers or tractors and want a single purchase that replaces the carburetor and common consumables. If your mower shows hard starting, unstable idle, or fuel leaks and the engine model and part numbers match, this kit provides a practical, ready-to-install repair solution without extra tuning.
