Hooke Road Wrangler Grill Mesh Inserts — Matte Black (1997–2006 TJ & Unlimited), 7-Piece Clip-In

Hooke Road Wrangler Grill Mesh Inserts are clip-in matte black grille covers designed to update the front of 1997–2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ and Unlimited models quickly and without drilling.

These seven-piece grille inserts snap into the stock front grille to provide a low-profile, rugged look while protecting the radiator area from larger road debris. Made of durable ABS plastic, the matte black finish resists rust and peeling and installs with the original grille pins for a reversible upgrade. The set is tailored to the Jeep TJ and Unlimited fitment years listed and comes with an installation method that requires no permanent modification.

Will these Hooke Road inserts fit my 1997–2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ or Unlimited?

Yes—the inserts are manufactured to match the factory grille openings on Jeep Wrangler TJ and Unlimited models produced from 1997 through 2006. They are a direct-fit clip-in replacement designed to align with the stock grille ribs and lock pin locations.

• Compatibility: 1997–2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ and Wrangler Unlimited
• Direct-fit: engineered to sit within factory grille slots
• No trimming required when used with stock grille
• Pack of 7 pieces covers the full front grille layout

How do I install the grille mesh inserts and how long does it take?

Installation is simple and tool-free for most owners: pop the upper grille lock pins to reach the grille from behind, then press and twist each insert until the clips engage. A single grille can usually be completed in 10–20 minutes by one person, depending on familiarity and access.

• Step 1: Release upper grille lock pins to access from behind
• Step 2: Align insert with grille opening and locate clip points
• Step 3: Press, twist, and manipulate until clip is fully engaged
• Reversible: remove by reversing the steps—no drilling required

What are the materials and durability expectations for these inserts?

The inserts are molded from high-quality ABS plastic that resists rust, corrosion, and peeling when used in normal driving conditions. While ABS is impact-resistant for common road debris, avoid relying on the inserts as a substitute for heavy-duty metal protection on extreme off-road trails.

• Material: high-grade ABS plastic for lightweight durability
• Finish: matte black to minimize glare and maintain a rugged look
• Weather resistance: will not rust or corrode like metal
• Care: clean with mild soap and water; avoid strong chemical cleaners

How will these inserts change the look and function of my Wrangler?

The matte black mesh inserts give the Wrangler a more aggressive, finished front-end appearance while screening out larger stones and debris that could otherwise strike the radiator or engine bay. They provide a subtle styling upgrade that complements aftermarket bumpers and off-road accessories without altering factory geometry.

• Style: adds attitude with a low-profile mesh aesthetic
• Protection: helps block larger road debris from reaching the radiator
• Compatibility with accessories: designed to work with many stock and aftermarket bumper setups
• Reversible: keeps original grille intact for resale or restoration

Who is this for: These Hooke Road grille inserts are made for Jeep TJ and Unlimited owners who want an easy, reversible visual upgrade and extra screening for the front of their vehicle without cutting or drilling. They suit daily drivers and light off-road enthusiasts who prefer a matte black, factory-integrated appearance and fast clip-in installation.
