How does this filter improve engine performance?

The K&N design uses multiple layers of oiled cotton gauze that permit greater airflow while still trapping harmful particulates. Better airflow can help the engine run more efficiently under load, often translating to improved throttle response and acceleration.

• Layered cotton media engineered to maximize air passage.
• Oiled treatment helps capture contaminants without choking airflow.
• Designed to provide measurable increases in horsepower and acceleration.

What maintenance does the washable, reusable filter require?

Unlike disposable filters, the K&N 33-5146 is serviceable: it can be cleaned, re-oiled, and reinstalled. Under normal highway driving conditions the recommended cleaning interval is approximately every 75,000 miles, which makes upkeep infrequent and cost-effective.

• Clean roughly every 75,000 miles under typical highway use.
• Use K&N cleaning kit and re-oil following manufacturer instructions.
• Reusable design reduces the number of replacement filters and waste.
