KMHGD WF-8955-MBA RV Power Converter 55A DC Output, Intelligent 3-Stage Charging, 5-Year Warranty

The KMHGD WF-8955-MBA is a direct replacement RV power converter motherboard delivering 55A DC output with intelligent three-stage charging and eight built-in protections.

This upgraded WF-8955-MBA converter is designed as a drop-in replacement for older WF-8955 series motherboards and compatible models, providing reliable DC charging for lead-acid, AGM, and gel batteries in RVs, travel trailers, campers, and trucks. It combines a 55 amp output, selectable charging stages, and multiple safety features so your house battery stays charged safely while you’re on the road.

How does the WF-8955-MBA manage battery charging?

The converter uses intelligent three-stage charging to switch automatically between fast, standard, and float modes depending on battery condition. This approach reduces overcharge risk and supports battery longevity without manual intervention.

• Three selectable voltages: 14.4 V (rapid), 13.6 V (standard), 13.2 V (float)
• Automatic detection of battery state to select correct stage
• 55A continuous DC output for consistent charging under load

What safety and protection features are included?

The WF-8955-MBA includes eight protection systems built into the motherboard to guard both converter and battery from common faults. These protections help prevent damage from overheating, reverse wiring, short circuits, and excessive current events.

• Over-temperature shutdown and automatic cooling fan activation
• Short-circuit and electronic current limiting for fault conditions
• Reverse battery and fuse blowout protection to prevent wiring mistakes
• Low-voltage and automatic detection to maintain safe charging behavior

Is installation difficult and which models does it fit?

Installation is straightforward—wire colors and connectors match the original WF-8955 family, which keeps replacement quick and familiar for technicians and DIYers. Typical swap time is about 15 minutes when replacing compatible converter boards.

• Direct fit for WF-8955PEC, WF-8955-AD-MBA, WF-8955AN and related WF-8900 series
• Wire colors and layout mirror the original for easy plug-and-play replacement
• Suitable for multiple battery chemistries: lead-acid, AGM, GEL

What are the electrical specifications and performance highlights?

This converter accepts typical RV AC input and delivers robust DC power for onboard systems and battery charging. It provides nearly 1 kW of DC power and maintains stable voltages across the three charging stages to support appliances and charging simultaneously.

• Input: 105–130 VAC, 60 Hz
• Output: 14.4 VDC / 13.6 VDC / 13.2 VDC selectable; 55 A output; 959 W maximum
• Built-in automatic fan and thermal management for continuous operation

Who is this for: The KMHGD WF-8955-MBA is aimed at RV owners, fleet operators, and service technicians who need a reliable, high-capacity converter board to replace aging WF-8955 series units. It suits anyone looking for an easy-to-fit, safety-focused power converter that supports common battery types and comes with extended warranty coverage for added peace of mind.
