KOCHCHEMIE Teerwäsche A tar & road fallout remover — 1 L solvent cleaner, effective on tar, sap and sticker residue

KOCHCHEMIE Koch-Chemie Teerwäsche A (Tea) is a solvent-based cleaner that dissolves tar, bitumen, tree sap, sticker residue and other road fallout on solvent-resistant vehicle surfaces.

Designed for professional use since 1968, this 1‑litre bottle delivers concentrated solvent power without halogenated hydrocarbons or NTA, making it a practical choice for garages, detailers and fleet maintenance teams. It targets stubborn organic residues that ordinary detergents struggle to remove and is formulated to be safe on many plastic and painted surfaces when used correctly.

How quickly does it remove tar and road bitumen?

The solvent blend acts rapidly to soften and lift tar, bitumen and sticky residues, often allowing them to be wiped away within moments. Reaction time depends on residue age and thickness; fresh deposits clear fastest while older, baked-on materials may require repeat application or gentle agitation.

• Works on fresh and aged tar, sap and sticker glue
• Short dwell times on typical road fallout
• Repeat applications speed removal of stubborn deposits

Is it safe on vehicle plastics, paint and trim?

Teerwäsche A is suitable for solvent-resistant surfaces and is formulated to be safe on many interior plastics and exterior trims when used as directed. Always test in an inconspicuous area first and avoid prolonged contact with sensitive or soft plastics and low-solvent paint finishes.

• Safe on most exterior and interior plastics after a spot test
• Use on solvent-resistant paint, wheels, bumpers and chrome
• Not recommended for delicate or untested materials without trial

How should professionals apply it to get best results?

Apply the product sparingly to the affected area, allow a short dwell period for the solvent to penetrate, then agitate with a soft cloth or detailing brush and remove residue with a clean microfiber. For heavy deposits, repeat the process and finish with a mild wash to remove any solvent film.

• Apply directly to contaminant or cloth; avoid overspray
• Wait briefly, agitate gently, then wipe or rinse
• Follow with a standard wash or surface rinse to remove residues

Where else can this cleaner be used besides cars?

Because it targets sticky, organic and bituminous contaminants, it’s suitable for a wide range of solvent-resistant applications: commercial vehicles, motorcycles, boats, workshop floors, carwash brushes and machinery. It’s a flexible product for any setting that needs reliable solvent cleaning power.

• Works on trucks, buses, motorcycles and marine gelcoat
• Appropriate for degreasing workshop equipment and floors
• Can be used on carwash brushes and machinery with solvent-resistant parts

Who is this for? Teerwäsche A is made for professional detailers, fleet managers, body shops and experienced enthusiasts who need a potent solvent cleaner that removes tar, sap and road fallout efficiently. It’s ideal when normal detergents fail, but users should observe solvent‑safety best practices: perform a spot test, work in a ventilated area, wear suitable gloves and avoid use on sensitive materials.
