Lippert Components RV Friction Hinge Kit for Entry Door — Pack of 2, Black or White, Adjustable Hold

Lippert Components Friction Hinge Kit is a two-hinge upgrade that secures and stabilizes RV entry doors, preventing them from swinging or slamming while providing adjustable hold at any angle.

Replace or reinforce your RV’s existing door hinges with a compact, laptop-style friction hinge designed for 5th wheels, travel trailers, and motorhomes. This easy-to-install kit from Lippert adds holding power to your entry door so it stays where you set it, reducing door movement caused by wind and campsite activity. The pack includes two hinge assemblies and all required screws, and comes in black or white to match most RV exteriors and Challenger Door Series models.

How does the Friction Hinge keep my RV door steady?

The hinge uses a friction mechanism—similar to a laptop screen hinge—that resists motion so the door stays put at any chosen angle. It reduces unwanted swinging and prevents the door from slamming shut, protecting the door frame and sidewall from impact damage. Tested for durability in gusts up to 25 mph, it offers a mechanical solution that replaces or supplements other door-holding devices.

• Friction mechanism holds door position without gas struts
• Prevents slamming and uncontrolled opening
• Engineered to resist wind gusts up to 25 mph
• Reduces wear on door frame and surrounding sidewalls

Is installation difficult and will I need to remove the door?

Installation is straightforward and designed for DIY completion—no door removal required. The kit includes two hinges and the complete set of screws, so you can mount the friction hinges over your existing hardware. Typical installation requires only basic hand tools and common RV maintenance skills.

• No need to remove the door or existing hinges
• Includes all necessary screws for immediate installation
• Compatible with standard hand tools and typical RV skill levels
• Available in black or white to match trim
