Lubriplate Chain & Cable Penetrating Oil spray, 12 fl. oz — non-gumming, moisture-displacing lubricant

Lubriplate L0135-063 Chain and Cable Penetrating Oil is a fast-acting, non-gumming petroleum formula that loosens seized hardware, cleans metal surfaces, and protects chains, cables, and brightwork from corrosion.

Keep metal moving and protected with a penetrating oil formulated for wire rope, link chains, cables, slides, and general lubrication tasks. This amber-colored, 12 fl. oz. spray is designed to cut through rust and grime, displace moisture, and leave a light protective film without building sticky residues. Technicians and hobbyists alike value its multi-purpose performance for maintenance, drilling, tapping, and sawing operations where a clean, low-viscosity lubricant is needed.

How does this penetrating oil free up rusty nuts and bolts?

The low-viscosity petroleum base quickly seeps into threads and corroded joints to break the bond of rust and scale. Once penetrated, mechanical force such as a wrench or pliers can more easily turn seized fasteners, reducing the risk of rounding or breakage.

• Rapid capillary action reaches under rust and corrosion.
• Non-gumming formulation prevents residue buildup after use.
• Amber formula shows coverage during application.
• Suitable for repeated applications on heavily corroded parts.

Will Lubriplate L0135-063 protect cables and chains from corrosion?

Yes—this product displaces moisture and leaves a thin, protective film that helps slow oxidation on bare metal surfaces. Regular application after cleaning extends service life and maintains smooth operation for moving parts.

• Moisture displacement protects against flash rusting.
• Thin lubricating film reduces wear on contact points.
• Works well on brightwork and exposed fastenings.
• Safe for use where non-gumming residue is important.

Can I use it as a general-purpose machining or cutting lubricant?

Lubriplate Chain and Cable Penetrating Oil performs well as a light-duty drilling, tapping, and sawing oil where a clean, low-viscosity lubricant is preferred. It reduces friction and clears metal chips while avoiding heavy build-up that can attract debris.

• Effective for light metalworking and assembly tasks.
• Helps maintain tool life by reducing heat and friction.
• Easy to apply in tight or recessed areas.
• Wipes clean without leaving sticky deposits.
