Mann Filter Engine Air Filter for Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne & VW Touareg (C39 002) — Direct‑Fit Embossed Media

The Mann Filter C 39 002 is a vehicle-specific engine air filter that protects the intake, improves airflow balance, and helps maintain consistent engine performance for select Audi, Porsche and VW SUVs.

Designed as a direct-fit replacement for multiple VAG platform SUVs, this Mann Filter element uses mechanically stable, embossed filter media to trap dust, pollen, soot and moisture while reducing intake noise and protecting downstream components such as the mass air flow sensor. Because it restores clean intake air, it supports correct air/fuel mixture and steady engine response—especially important for turbocharged diesel and petrol engines in large SUVs.

How does this filter improve engine performance?

The C 39 002 keeps contaminants out of the intake tract so the engine receives cleaner air, which helps preserve combustion consistency and sensor accuracy. While not a performance part, a fresh air filter reduces the likelihood of restricted airflow that can cause throttle or turbo lag.

• High mechanical stability from embossed filter paper sustains pleat shape under airflow pressure.
• Efficient dirt separation limits particles reaching the mass airflow meter and throttle body.
• Removes pollen, sand, soot and water droplets for more consistent air quality.
• Reduced intake noise improves perceived responsiveness.

Will this fit my vehicle and how easy is installation?

This Mann Filter is a vehicle-specific fit for Audi Q7 (2009–2016), Q7 TDI (2009–2010), Porsche Cayenne (2008–2018) and VW Touareg (2004–2017). It is made to match the original housing dimensions so installation is typically a straightforward swap during routine maintenance.

• Direct replacement design for compatible factory air boxes—no trimming required.
• Standard tools only; most replacements take under 30 minutes.
• Seals and pleat stability ensure a tight fit to prevent air bypass.
• Recommended replacement interval follows vehicle manufacturer service schedule.

What materials and filtration features does it use?

The C 39 002 uses specially embossed filter paper engineered for pleat stability and robust particle capture. The structure balances low airflow resistance with effective dirt separation to protect engine components and sensors without adding excessive pressure drop.

• Embossed media for strong pleat geometry and long-term stability.
• Media traps a range of particles from coarse dust to fine soot and pollen.
• Designed to reduce water carryover and protect downstream electronics.
• Built to minimize intake noise and balance airflow toward the meter.

How does changing this filter affect fuel economy and maintenance?

A clean air filter helps maintain the correct air/fuel ratio; while gains vary, replacing a heavily clogged filter can improve fuel efficiency and restore throttle response. Using a properly fitting, high-quality filter reduces the need for frequent sensor or intake cleaning.

• Can recover lost economy from a clogged air filter—U.S. DOE cites savings up to about 10% in extreme cases.
• Helps prevent particulate buildup on the mass air flow sensor and intake valves.
• Supports longer service intervals for downstream components when changed per schedule.
• Maintaining clean intake air contributes to consistent engine behavior under load.

Who is this for: Drivers and technicians owning or servicing Audi Q7 (2009–2016), Q7 TDI (2009–2010), Porsche Cayenne (2008–2018) or VW Touareg (2004–2017) who need a reliable, vehicle-specific replacement air filter. It suits owners who prefer OEM-quality filtration, want to protect turbocharged and naturally aspirated engines from particulate contamination, and those who prioritize easy, correct-fit maintenance during service intervals.
