MOTO1988 Air Filter Kit for Yamaha Kodiak 400 (2000-2002) — Pre-Oiled Filter, Guide & End Cap

MOTO1988 air filter kit provides a complete replacement air filter, guide, and end cap engineered to fit Yamaha Kodiak 400 models from 2000–2002.

This kit combines the air filter element with the matching guide and end cap so you can replace the whole intake sealing assembly at once. It ships pre-oiled and ready to install, and includes manufacturer part numbers so you can verify fitment: 5GH-14458-01-00, 1UY-14468-00-00, 5GH-14458-01, 5GH-14451-00-00. The set is built to match the intake geometry of Yamaha Kodiak 400 YFM400A, YFM400FA 4x4, and YFM400FAH Hunter/Realtree Xtra variants from model years 2000 through 2002.

How do I confirm this kit fits my Kodiak 400?

Check three quick details to ensure compatibility: your ATV model designation (YFM400A, YFM400FA, or YFM400FAH), the production year (2000, 2001, or 2002), and the OEM part numbers printed on your original parts. The product listing includes the manufacturer part numbers used by Yamaha so you can cross-reference with your machine before ordering.

• Compatible models: Yamaha Kodiak 400 YFM400A/YFM400FA/YFM400FAH (2000–2002)
• OEM numbers: 5GH-14458-01-00, 1UY-14468-00-00, 5GH-14458-01, 5GH-14451-00-00
• Verify year and model stamped on your ATV or in the owner’s manual

What comes in the package and how is it prepared?

The kit contains three components: one air filter element, one air filter guide, and one end cap. The filter arrives pre-oiled so it is ready for immediate installation without extra supplies. This single purchase replaces the full intake sealing assembly rather than just the element for a more reliable fit.

• Package contents: 1x air filter, 1x air filter guide, 1x end cap
• Pre-oiled filter: ready to mount out of the box
• Complete assembly: reduces risk of leaks from mismatched parts

How simple is installation and routine maintenance?

Installation is straightforward for anyone comfortable with basic ATV maintenance; the guide and end cap are designed to align with the factory mounting points. Routine care follows standard ATV air filter procedures: inspect after heavy rides, clean or replace as needed, and keep the sealing surfaces free of debris to maintain proper airflow and protection.

• Basic tools: screwdriver or socket set typically required
• Maintenance: inspect after muddy or dusty use, re-clean or replace per riding conditions
• Sealing tip: ensure guide and end cap sit flush to avoid unfiltered airflow
