How does installation work and what tools are needed?

Installation is intended to be a direct replacement that uses the factory holes and latch interface, so you won’t need major modifications. Basic hand tools—screwdrivers, a socket set, and possibly trim removal tools—are typically sufficient. If you’re replacing a broken or corroded handle, the process usually involves removing the inner tailgate panel, swapping the handle assembly, and reconnecting the latch/linkage.

• Requires removal of tailgate inner panel for access
• Common tools: screwdriver, ratchet/socket set, trim tool
• Designed for direct-fit mounting to existing latch points

What is this lock made of and how durable is it?

The bezel and handle components are molded from ABS plastic for impact resistance and dimensional stability across a wide temperature range. The locking element is hardened steel, chosen to resist tampering and provide a robust physical barrier to unauthorized opening. The ABS housing is corrosion-resistant and designed not to deform under normal environmental stress.

• ABS plastic bezel and handle for durability and thermal stability
• Hardened steel lock element for enhanced security
• Corrosion-resistant construction suited to outdoor use
