NGK CPR7EA-9 (stock 3901) is a two-piece set of nickel/copper, resistor spark plugs engineered as direct OE-style replacements for many Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki and other small-displacement engines.
These NGK standard replacement spark plugs combine a copper core with a nickel alloy tip and a high-grade ceramic insulator to deliver consistent ignition performance across a wide range of recreational vehicles and motorcycles. Designed with a 0.036 in (0.9 mm) pre-set gap, a 5,000-ohm resistor and a 7 heat range, the CPR7EA-9 is intended as a like-for-like replacement where OEM nickel plugs are specified. The plug includes a crush washer and a 5/8" (16 mm) hex for straightforward installation.
The CPR7EA-9 fits a variety of ATVs, UTVs and motorcycles that originally shipped with nickel alloy plugs. Compatibility covers multiple model years for Kawasaki Teryx and Brute Force, several Yamaha V Star/XVS950 variants and select Suzuki GSX250R models. Always cross-check the part number against your owner’s manual or the original equipment reference before ordering.
This plug features a solid copper core for heat control and a nickel alloy center and ground electrode. It uses a ceramic alumina-silicate insulator for superior dielectric strength, a J-gap ground configuration and a mid-projection center electrode design. The plug is a resistor type with a specified resistance of 5,000 ohms to reduce radio-frequency interference.
Installation is straightforward using a 5/8" socket; the included crush washer provides a proper seal when torqued to manufacturer specifications. Because these are nickel-alloy plugs, they’re intended as replacements for vehicles that shipped with nickel plugs—not for engines designed around precious-metal electrodes. Inspect gap and torque during installation and replace in matched intervals recommended by your vehicle maker.
NGK Standard plugs are engineered to meet OE fitment and performance expectations while providing economical replacement for nickel-equipped engines. The combination of copper core and high-grade ceramic helps manage heat and electrical flow reliably. Trivalent metal plating improves corrosion resistance and reduces the chance of seizing in the cylinder head threads.
Who is this for: The NGK CPR7EA-9 two-pack is intended for riders, DIY mechanics and service shops maintaining Kawasaki Teryx and Brute Force UTVs, Yamaha V Star/Bolt models, select Suzuki sportbikes and other small-displacement engines that specify nickel alloy replacement plugs. Choose this set when you need an OEM-style nickel plug with a copper core, resistor suppression and proven NGK manufacturing quality for routine tune-ups and service intervals.
Q: Are these plugs pre-gapped?
A: Yes — the CPR7EA-9 plugs are pre-gapped to 0.036 inches (0.9 mm); verify gap before installation.
Q: Can I use these on engines requiring precious-metal plugs?
A: No — these NGK nickel plugs are intended for engines originally specified for nickel alloy electrodes.
