Nilight Car Door Step — Foldable Latch Hook Step, Yellow, 500 lb Two-Foot Platform

Nilight Car Door Step is a foldable aluminum latch-mounted step that hooks to most vehicle door latches to give stable, two-footed access to roofs and racks, rated to support up to 500 lbs.

This portable latch step is designed to make rooftop loading, gear adjustment, and vehicle cleaning faster and safer without needing a ladder. Built from aluminum alloy and stainless steel with a scissor-lock structure and extended non-slip platform, the Nilight step folds compactly for storage and fits many truck and SUV door latches. Before purchase, compare your vehicle’s latch to the product images to confirm compatibility.

How does the latch step attach and stay secure?

The step hooks over the vehicle’s existing door latch and uses a scissor-lock design to distribute forces in two directions, holding the platform steady under load. It requires no tools and installs in seconds by hanging the hook and closing the door slightly to seat it.

• Simple hook-on installation over standard door latches
• Scissor-lock structure resists twisting and lateral movement
• Angle adjustments let you level the platform on different door styles

What strength and traction features does it offer?

Crafted from aluminum alloy with stainless steel hardware, the step balances light weight with durability and handles up to 500 lbs. The platform is longer than single-foot hooks and has a textured, non-slip pattern to reduce slipping and allow both feet to sit securely.

• Aluminum and stainless construction for corrosion resistance
• 500 lb maximum load rating for heavy-duty use
• Textured, extended platform for two-foot stance and improved balance

Is it easy to carry and store while traveling?

Yes — the Nilight latch step folds flat into a compact shape that fits in glove boxes, trunk compartments, or alongside your spare tire. Its lightweight metal construction keeps carry weight low while remaining robust for frequent outdoor use.

• Folds down for space-saving storage in glove box or trunk
• Lightweight design makes it convenient to carry to campsites or job sites
• Quick deployment for on-the-spot roof access

What tasks does this step make easier?

The hook step simplifies many rooftop and roof-rack chores where a ladder is impractical: securing roof boxes, loading kayaks or bikes, adjusting crossbars, or washing the vehicle top. It gives steadier, two-foot support so you can work with both hands free.

• Loading and unloading roof racks, boxes, kayaks, and bikes
• Securing straps, tightening mounts, and adjusting accessories
• Vehicle roof cleaning and quick inspections without a ladder

Who this is for: Drivers of trucks, SUVs, and many cars who frequently use roof racks or roof-mounted storage and want a compact, durable way to access the roof. It's particularly useful for outdoor enthusiasts, tradespeople, and anyone who needs a quick, portable step for loading gear, performing maintenance, or washing the roof. Confirm your vehicle’s door latch matches the product images before buying to ensure fit.
