Nilight Forged Trailer Hitch Ball Mount 2-5/16" Ball — 2" Receiver, 2" Drop, 15,000 lb Rating

Nilight's forged hitch ball mount pairs a 2-5/16" tow ball with a 2" shank for heavy-duty towing up to 15,000 lbs gross trailer weight.

This welded and forged ball mount is built for standard 2" receiver systems and comes ready to use with a 5/8" hitch pin and clip. Finished in a two-stage corrosion-resistant coating and featuring a polished chrome tow ball, the mount balances durability with a clean appearance. The 2" drop and 8-1/2" overall length keep load geometry predictable for common trailers, campers, and equipment haulers.

What towing capacity and ball size does this mount support?

The Nilight forged mount is rated for a gross trailer weight (GTW) up to 15,000 lbs and a tongue weight (TW) of 1,500 lbs when used as supplied with the tow ball installed. It uses a 2-5/16" diameter ball—sized for larger couplers—so verify your trailer's coupler matches before towing.

• GTW: up to 15,000 lbs with ball in place
• Tongue weight: up to 1,500 lbs
• Tow ball diameter: 2-5/16" (chrome-plated)
• Remove ball changes weight ratings—always confirm vehicle limits

How does this mount fit into my 2" receiver and install?

The shank measures 2" x 2", so it slides into any industry-standard 2" receiver tube. Installation is straightforward: insert the shank, align the 5/8" pin hole and secure with the included hitch pin and clip. The rounded shank profile and included hardware make alignment and securing faster at the hitch receiver.

• Shank size: 2" x 2" for standard receivers
• Pin hole: 5/8" diameter, pin and clip included
• Overall length: 8-1/2" for predictable coupling distance
• Drop: 2" drop to help match trailer height

What protective finishes and materials are used to resist corrosion?

The mount is forged for strength and then treated with a two-stage finish: an e-coat pre-coating followed by a textured black powder coat for long-lasting protection. The tow ball is polished and chrome-plated to resist rust where the coupler contacts the ball. These finishes slow surface corrosion and maintain the mount's appearance under regular outdoor use.

• Forged steel construction for structural durability
• E-coat pretreatment plus textured black powder coat
• Polished chrome-plated tow ball for wear resistance
• Finish suited for roadside and seasonal exposure

How do the mount dimensions affect trailer hookup and clearance?

The 2" drop and 8-1/2" overall length position the trailer coupler in a common height range while retaining enough distance for safe clearance behind the vehicle. If your trailer requires a different rise or drop, compare this mount's dimensions to your coupler height to determine fit. The 2-5/16" ball diameter suits heavier trailers and larger couplers commonly found on campers and equipment trailers.

• Drop: 2" (helps lower coupler to vehicle receiver level)
• Overall length: 8-1/2" for proper clearance and coupling reach
• Ball hole center and shank geometry for standard coupler alignment
• Confirm coupler size and vehicle limits before towing

Who is this for: The Nilight forged trailer hitch ball mount is aimed at drivers who need a rugged, ready-to-install ball mount for a 2" receiver—owners of larger trailers, campers, motorcycles, ATVs, and utility trailers that use a 2-5/16" coupler. Choose this mount if you want forged construction, a corrosion-resistant finish, and included pin hardware for straightforward installation. Always match this mount's ratings and dimensions to your tow vehicle and trailer requirements before use.
