OTC 1914 is a 4-inch, 6-point wheel bearing locknut socket crafted from high-strength steel for manual 3/4" square-drive use, built to install and remove locknuts without rounding.
This socket is engineered specifically for wheel bearing locknuts: a 4" (flat-to-flat) opening with a 5" depth provides spindle clearance while the six-point profile grips flats rather than corners to reduce rounding. It is made for manual 3/4" square-drive tools — not impact drivers — and the heavy-duty alloy construction resists deformation under high torque. The OTC 1914 is a value-focused specialty tool intended to speed common hub service while protecting the fastener surface.
The six-point geometry concentrates contact on the locknut flats so force transfers evenly without slipping across corners. Solid high-strength steel and precise machining maintain shape under heavy torque, lowering the risk of rounding even during stubborn removals.
Measure the locknut flat-to-flat to confirm the 4" opening is the correct size. The socket accepts a 3/4" square-drive manual tool; its 5" depth gives clearance past most spindles and hub components for easier access.
This model is intended for manual drives only and is not rated for impact tool use. Applying an impact wrench can damage the socket and will void the manufacturer’s warranty; choose a dedicated impact-rated socket for pneumatic or electric impact work.
OTC markets specialty sockets that solve specific service challenges; this locknut socket pairs focused geometry with durable materials so a single tool handles heavy hub work reliably. It helps technicians complete jobs faster while preserving locknut integrity and reducing rework.
Who this is for: technicians, independent mechanics, and DIYers who regularly service wheel hubs and bearings and need a rugged, purpose-built socket that fits 4" locknuts and clears spindles. It’s ideal when you require precise engagement with locknut flats, prefer manual torque control, and want a shop-grade tool that resists rounding under demanding use.
Q: What size locknut does the OTC 1914 fit?
A: It fits locknuts with a 4-inch flat-to-flat measurement; always measure the nut flats to confirm.
Q: Can I use this socket with an impact wrench?
A: No — it’s designed for 3/4" square-drive manual tools only; impact use voids the warranty.
