Performance Tool 4.5 Gallon Oil Drain Pan — Black, HDPE with Pour Spout & Anti‑Splash Lip

The Performance Tool W4071 is a rugged 4.5-gallon oil drain pan engineered to catch engine oil and coolants cleanly and move fluids without spills.

Service tasks run smoother when the containment tool is built to handle heat, weight and messy pours. The W4071 drain pan is molded from high-density polyethylene with thick walls, an anti-splash internal lip, a molded handle and a pour spout so you can collect and transfer automotive fluids with less mess and more control. It’s sized to hold multiple oil changes’ worth of fluid while remaining compact enough to slide under most passenger cars.

How does this pan reduce spills and splashing during oil changes?

The pan’s internal anti-splash lip keeps fluid contained when the pan is moved or jostled, and the wide intake opening makes it easy to position under an oil drain. A built-in pour spout lets you direct fluid into funnels or bottles without drips down the side.

• Anti-splash internal lip prevents sloshing when transporting fluids
• Wide opening simplifies alignment under the drain plug
• Integrated pour spout reduces accidental drips while transferring
• Molded handle gives a secure grip when moving heavy fluid

Is this drain pan durable enough for hot oil and repeated shop use?

Yes — the W4071 uses high-density polyethylene and heavy walls that maintain rigidity even after contact with hot engine oil. The material resists cracking and is easy to rinse or wipe clean after service so it holds up to repeated garage or fleet use.

• High-density polyethylene resists heat-related deformation
• Thick walls provide structural stability under load
• Smooth surfaces allow quick cleaning of oil and coolant residue

What capacity and size should I expect, and will it fit under my vehicle?

The W4071 holds 4.5 gallons (about 16 liters), enough capacity to catch oil from most passenger vehicles without frequent emptying. The broad, low-profile opening is designed to slide under low-clearance vehicles while still offering a large catch area.

• 4.5-gallon (16 L) capacity for multiple oil drains or larger single drains
• Wide, low-profile opening suits low-clearance vehicles and SUVs
• Compact footprint balances capacity with ease of storage

How easy is it to empty, transport and store this drain pan?

Emptying is straightforward thanks to the molded pour spout and a comfortable molded handle for carrying. The pan’s shape stacks easily with similar pans for compact storage, and its tough polyethylene construction tolerates care-free garage handling.

• Molded pour spout directs fluid into disposal containers or funnels
• Comfortable handle for controlled transport of full fluids
• Stackable design for space-efficient storage in a shop or garage

Who is this for: The Performance Tool W4071 suits home DIY mechanics, mobile technicians and small shops that need a reliable, spill-minimizing oil drain pan. If you want a compact, heat-tolerant pan with a large intake, splash containment and an easy pour option, this model offers a practical balance of capacity, durability and clean handling for routine vehicle maintenance.
