Purolator Engine Oil Filter PBL10241 PurolatorBOSS — SmartFUSION Synthetic Media, Heavy-Duty Construction

PurolatorBOSS PBL10241 is a spin-on oil filter engineered with SmartFUSION synthetic media and reinforced construction to provide long-lasting engine protection for extended service intervals.

Built as a premium replacement filter, the PBL10241 combines full-synthetic filtration technology, heavy-duty internal parts, and an improved gasket and valve setup to work with conventional and synthetic oils. It's offered for a wide range of vehicles — from Ford Escape and Fusion to Toyota Tacoma and Lexus models — and is designed for drivers who need robust performance during towing, stop-and-go city driving, long commutes and extreme temperatures.

How does this filter help protect my engine on long service intervals?

The PBL10241 uses SmartFUSION full-synthetic filter media bonded to a reinforced polymer mesh backing to trap microscopic particles efficiently. That media is rated to remove more than 99% of dirt, so it maintains oil cleanliness over longer miles when paired with proper oil change practices.

• SmartFUSION synthetic media for high-efficiency particle capture
• Over 99% reported dirt removal power
• Suitable for extended intervals up to manufacturer recommendations

What makes the PurolatorBOSS construction more durable than standard oil filters?

This model features a heavy-duty BOSS steel casing and a double-helix high-flow center tube that gives greater structural strength than traditional side-seam center tubes. The reinforced internals resist collapse or deformation under high pressure, making it better suited to high-mileage engines and severe duty cycles.

• Thick BOSS steel casing for impact and crush resistance
• Double-helix center tube for twice the strength of standard tubes
• Rugged internal design for towing, hauling and high-temperature use

Will this filter work with synthetic oils and my vehicle?

PBL10241 is engineered to perform with all common oil types and viscosities, including full-synthetic formulations. Compatibility covers many makes and models — check the vehicle fit list (Ford, Toyota, Lexus, Mazda, Chrysler and more) or your owner's manual to confirm fitment for your year and engine.

• Formulated for conventional and full-synthetic oils
• Fits many Ford models such as Escape, Fusion, Focus, Edge and Ranger
• Also compatible with Toyota Tacoma, Lexus models and other makes listed by Purolator

What leak and start-up protections are included?

The filter includes a PuroSEAL ethylene acrylic gasket that resists leaks and maintains a reliable seal over time. A silicone anti-drainback valve helps prevent oil from draining out of the filter when the engine is off, reducing dry-start wear on initial startup.

• PuroSEAL ethylene acrylic gasket for durable sealing
• Silicone anti-drainback valve to prevent dry starts
• Designed to preserve oil flow and pressure under varying conditions

Who is this for: The PurolatorBOSS PBL10241 is aimed at drivers who want heavy-duty filtration and extended protection — owners of compatible Fords, Toyotas, Lexuses and other listed vehicles, fleet managers, and anyone who regularly tows, commutes long distances, or operates in extreme climates. If you expect high engine loads or want a higher-performance filtration upgrade for use with synthetic oil, this filter is a practical choice.
