ROCPOL Tacoma Tailgate Insert Letters — Matte Black 2016–2023, 3D ABS with 3M Adhesive

ROCPOL matte-black 3D tailgate letters are molded ABS inserts designed to replace or upgrade the factory Tacoma lettering for 2016–2023 models, installing quickly with durable 3M adhesive for a clean, raised emblem look.

If you want a straightforward way to refresh your Tacoma’s rear without painting or drilling, these custom-fit insert letters offer a bolt-on appearance upgrade. Built to match the 2016–2023 tailgate groove dimensions, each character snaps into the factory recess and stays put through washes and weather thanks to a robust adhesive backing and abrasion-resistant ABS construction.

Will these letters fit my Tacoma tailgate?

These inserts are specifically shaped for Toyota Tacoma tailgates manufactured between 2016 and 2023 and are not intended for other model years or pickup makes. The pieces are sized to sit in the original letter groove, so fit depends on an unmodified tailgate recess.

• Compatibility: Tacoma 2016–2023 only
• Designed to fill the existing factory letter groove
• Not compatible with different-year or aftermarket-modified tailgates

How durable are the matte black 3D emblems?

Made from high-grade ABS plastic, the letters resist fading, warping and general abrasion from road debris and routine cleaning. The matte finish hides minor scratches and stays consistent in sunlight without peeling like thin vinyl decals.

• Material: weather- and chemical-resistant ABS
• Finish: non-reflective matte black that resists UV fading
• Longevity: built to withstand car washes and outdoor exposure

How do I install the letters and how long will it take?

Installation is a quick, do-it-yourself job that typically takes 2–5 minutes after surface prep. Clean the groove thoroughly with alcohol or a similar cleaner, dry the area, remove the 3M adhesive backing and press each letter into place; a heat source can improve adhesion in cold conditions.

• Prep: clean groove with alcohol cloth or cleaner
• Adhesive: 3M backing on each letter for strong bond
• Time: about 2–5 minutes; allow proper cure time per adhesive instructions

What maintenance is required once the letters are installed?

After installation, routine washing with mild soap and water is all that’s needed—avoid harsh chemical strippers or aggressive scrubbing directly on the letters. Inspect the adhesive seam occasionally and allow 24–48 hours after install before exposing to heavy rain or pressure washers for optimal bonding.

• Cleaning: mild soap and soft cloth
• Avoid: strong solvents and abrasive pads
• Bonding tip: wait 24–48 hours before high-pressure washing
