Rusfre Rubberized Undercoating Spray for Vehicles 1-Gallon — Black, Rust-Resistant Sound Deadener

Rusfre RUS-1020F1 is a black, rubberized spray-on undercoating formulated for use with BBB spray guns to protect vehicle undersides from rust, noise, and abrasion.

This 1-gallon formulation combines a flexible rubber matrix with bonded fibers and rust inhibitors to adhere to metal surfaces, dampen road noise, and resist chipping or cracking. Designed specifically for application with Rusfre BBB guns, it sprays evenly to form a durable, textured coating that fills seams and cavities while remaining tack-free after curing. The product is solvent-based, black in color, and intended for automotive underbody protection and sound deadening rather than decorative finishes.

How does this undercoating protect vehicle undersides?

The RUS-1020F1 creates a continuous rubberized layer that blocks moisture and corrosive elements from contacting metal. Reinforced fibers help the coating bond tightly, reducing the likelihood of flaking or peeling under road stress. It also adds a textured barrier that deflects stones and road debris.

• Rubberized film seals against salt, water, and grime
• Bound fibers improve adhesion and impact resistance
• Rust inhibitors reduce metal oxidation over time
• Textured finish deflects chips and abrasion

What equipment and conditions are best for application?

RUS-1020F1 is formulated for use with Rusfre BBB spray guns, which provide the spray pattern and pressure needed for uniform coverage. For best results apply at room temperature or higher and agitate the product by stirring and shaking before use. Thin or warm the product only if the manufacturer’s instructions permit it; always check nozzle and pressure settings on the spray gun.

• Use Rusfre BBB guns for optimal atomization and texture
• Apply at room temperature or warmer for smooth flow
• Shake and stir thoroughly before spraying
• Adjust spray pressure to avoid runs and ensure even coverage

How long does it take to cure and what finish should I expect?

Curing time varies with temperature, humidity, and film thickness; expect tack-free times within hours and full mechanical cure over several days under normal shop conditions. The cured finish is black, flexible, and textured rather than glossy, providing durable impact resistance and sound deadening rather than a cosmetic shine.

• Tack-free in hours under normal conditions
• Full cure in days depending on environment and thickness
• Black, matte, textured finish for protection and noise reduction
• Not intended as a cosmetic topcoat

Who is this for: RUS-1020F1 is aimed at professional body shops, restoration specialists, and experienced DIYers who use Rusfre BBB spray equipment and need a resilient undercoating that bonds well, resists chipping, and suppresses road noise. It’s ideal for treating frames, floor pans, wheel wells, rocker panels, and other exposed underbody areas where corrosion protection and impact resistance are priorities. Avoid use on interior trim or in applications requiring a decorative finish; consult safety data sheets for ventilation and personal protective equipment recommendations before spraying.
