Rvinyl 3M 50 Black Gloss Pinstriping Tape 1/8in x 150ft — UV topcoat, carwash-safe

Rvinyl's 3M 50 Black Gloss pinstriping tape is a 1/8" x 150ft peel-and-stick calendered vinyl roll made for long-lasting, weather-resistant vehicle and craft striping.

This premium 3 mil black gloss vinyl roll from 3M (sold under the Rvinyl offering) delivers a long continuous length of pinstripe material for detailing vehicles, boats, RVs, or DIY projects. It combines a glossy finish, strong adhesive, and a silicone release liner so you can apply continuous straight lines or smooth curves without constant joins. The film is designed for indoor and outdoor use and resists fading for years when applied to non-porous surfaces.

How will this pinstriping tape hold up outdoors?

The tape uses 3M 50 calendered vinyl with a UV top coat and strong adhesive, made to resist fading, lifting, and routine car washes. While calendered vinyl is not as conformable as cast vinyl for extreme curves, it provides excellent durability for long straight runs and moderate contours.

• 3 mil calendered film with UV top coat for fade resistance
• Rated for up to five years in typical outdoor conditions
• Carwash-safe and resistant to rain, sun, and road grime
• Best on hard, non-porous surfaces (paint, metal, glass)

Is it easy to apply around curves, edges, and body lines?

Yes—this peel-and-stick roll simplifies long runs and gentle curves. Remove small sections of the silicone liner and steadily apply the stripe while smoothing; heat can help on complex contours, but avoid overstretching to prevent distortion.

• Silicone release liner allows controlled unrolling and placement
• Supports straight lines, gradual curves, and following body modeling
• Use a heat gun for tighter bends; do not over-stretch the vinyl
• Ideal for hoods, fenders, doors, and trim accents

What projects and surfaces are best for this roll?

The 1/8" width and 150ft length make this roll versatile for automotive detailing, marine accents, signage, crafts, and labeling. It adheres strongly to painted metal, plastic, glass, and finished wood—any clean, dry, non-porous surface.

• Vehicle striping: cars, motorcycles, ATVs, boats, RVs
• Sign-making, decals, mailbox and appliance accents
• Home and craft projects: tumblers, frames, organization labels
• Professional and DIY uses—long continuous runs without seams

How long does one roll last and how should I store unused vinyl?

One 150ft roll provides many pinstripe lines—enough for multiple vehicles or large signage projects. Store unopened rolls flat or standing in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight; once opened, keep the unused portion rolled with the liner to maintain adhesion.

• 150ft (50 yards) per roll for extended projects and multiple uses
• Store at room temperature, out of direct sun and humidity
• Keep silicone liner intact to protect adhesive until use
• Best applied within manufacturer-recommended shelf life for peak adhesion

Who is this for? Rvinyl's 3M 50 Black Gloss pinstriping tape is for car enthusiasts, detail shops, sign makers, and DIY crafters who need a long, consistent supply of glossy black trim that resists fading and stands up to daily wear. If you want clean, continuous stripes for vehicles, boats, or creative projects—without buying multiple short rolls—this 1/8" x 150ft film offers a professional-looking finish and flexible application options for many surfaces.
