SEM Color Coat Lite Parchment 12 fl. oz. - Flexible, Fade-Resistant Coating for Vinyl & Plastic

SEM 15823 Lite Parchment Color Coat is a flexible, durable coating designed to change or restore color on vinyl, plastics, carpet and velour without acting as a dye.

SEM Color Coat Lite Parchment is a specialty elastomeric finish sold in a 12 fl. oz. can for touch-ups, trim refreshes and complete color changes on interior and exterior flexible surfaces. Unlike a dye that soaks into fibers, this product forms a permanent, fade-resistant film that stretches with flexible substrates and bonds to many rigid plastics. It’s formulated for automotive, marine and upholstery use where matching or rejuvenating vinyl, velour or plastic panels matters.

What surfaces will this Lite Parchment coating adhere to?

This formula is engineered to bond to many flexible and rigid surfaces commonly found in vehicles and interiors. It performs best on clean, prepped vinyl, flexible plastics, velour and carpet fibers. For best results, remove oils, silicone residue and heavy soil before application.

• Flexible vinyl trim and upholstery
• Rigid plastics such as dashboard and trim pieces
• Carpet and velour surfaces (spot or panel applications)
• Previously painted or faded areas after proper scuff and clean

How do I apply SEM Lite Parchment Color Coat for a professional finish?

Apply in a well-ventilated area using light, even coats to build film thickness without runs. Allow each coat to tack before applying the next; multiple thin coats produce a flexible, uniform finish that resists cracking. Follow SEM’s surface prep guidelines for adhesion and longevity.

• Clean surface thoroughly and remove contaminants
• Scuff glossy surfaces lightly for mechanical adhesion
• Spray or brush in thin layers, allowing tack between coats
• Cure per instructions before heavy use or trimming

Will this coating hold up to daily wear and sunlight exposure?

SEM’s Color Coat is formulated for fade resistance and flexible performance, so it tolerates typical wear on automotive interiors and soft trim. Durability depends on prep, number of coats and exposure conditions; proper application extends service life and preserves color. Avoid harsh cleaners to maintain the finish.

• Elastomeric film resists cracking on flexible parts
• Fade-resistant pigments for stable color over time
• Requires gentle cleaners to preserve film integrity
• Best longevity when applied per product directions

Can I match or blend this Lite Parchment with other SEM colors?

Color Coat is designed to coordinate with SEM’s color system and can be used for spot repairs, full panels or blended transitions. While OEM color matching can vary, using SEM products and mixing guidelines increases the chance of a seamless repair. Test on a small area first for tone and adhesion.

• Suitable for spot repairs and panel blending
• Use test swatches to confirm color match
• Combine with compatible SEM primers or sealers if needed
• Adjust layering to fine-tune shade and coverage
