SONAX PPF & Vinyl Cleaner — Safe DIY cleaner for matte & gloss wraps, gentle on PPF

SONAX PPF & Vinyl Cleaner is a purpose-built, gentle yet effective cleaner that lifts road grime, insect residue, and stubborn contaminants from paint protection film and vinyl wraps without harming matte or gloss finishes.

Designed for vehicles protected by PPF or dressed in vinyl wraps, this formulation targets stuck-on dirt and organic fallout while leaving films, textured matte, and glossy surfaces intact. It works quickly to loosen contaminants so they can be safely rinsed or wiped away, reducing the need for aggressive scrubbing that can stress edges or seams. The product is intended for DIY car care and professional detailers who need a reliable maintenance cleaner that’s compatible with glass, plastic trim, and painted areas adjacent to wrapped panels.

How does this cleaner remove stubborn road grime without damaging the film?

SONAX PPF & Vinyl Cleaner uses a balanced cleaning chemistry that dissolves and suspends dirt and organic residues so they rinse off easily. It avoids harsh solvents that could soften or streak vinyl and film materials.

• Breaks down insect residue, oil film, and road dirt for safer removal.
• Formulated to leave minimal residue to prevent streaking on gloss finishes.
• Reduces manual abrasion by loosening contaminants before wiping.

Can I use it on both matte and glossy wraps without altering appearance?

Yes — the cleaner is suited for both matte and gloss vinyl surfaces and is formulated to preserve the original finish. It does not contain fillers or gloss enhancers that would change a matte wrap’s visual texture.

• Safe on textured matte films; does not add shine or reflectivity.
• Compatible with glossy wraps; rinses clean to maintain clarity.
• Also safe around adjacent painted panels, trim, and glass.

What’s the safest way to apply SONAX PPF & Vinyl Cleaner during routine maintenance?

For best results, pre-rinse the vehicle to remove loose debris, spray the cleaner on affected areas, let it dwell briefly, then agitate with a soft microfiber if needed and rinse thoroughly. Work in shaded areas and avoid letting the product dry on hot panels.

• Pre-rinse to remove grit that can scratch during wiping.
• Apply lightly, allow short dwell time, then wipe or rinse off.
• Use soft microfiber towels to lift loosened contaminants safely.

Will this product affect other exterior materials like trim or glass?

SONAX PPF & Vinyl Cleaner is formulated to target contaminants only and is non-aggressive toward adjacent materials. It can be used near glass, plastic trims, and painted areas without causing etching or discoloration when used as directed.

• Safe for plastic trim and rubber seals when rinsed properly.
• Does not harm automotive glass or conventional paint finishes.
• Reduces cross-contamination risk when cleaning mixed-surface panels.

Who this is for: SONAX PPF & Vinyl Cleaner is intended for vehicle owners, professional detailers, and wrap installers who need an effective maintenance cleaner that protects PPF and vinyl integrity. If you manage a fleet, maintain a wrapped vehicle, or simply want a dependable cleaner that preserves matte and gloss appearances without harsh solvents, this product provides a balanced solution to lift stubborn residues while keeping films and adjacent surfaces safe.
