SPEARHEAD cabin air filter BE-472 — activated-carbon electrostatic media, up to 15,000-mile life

The SPEARHEAD Breathe Easy BE-472 cabin air filter is a high-capacity, activated-carbon replacement filter that traps fine particles and adsorbs odors for up to 15,000 miles.

Replace your factory cabin filter with a durable option engineered for extended service life and stronger filtration. The BE-472 uses dense electrostatic media combined with real coconut-shell activated carbon to capture airborne particulates, road grime and many common odors before they enter the vehicle’s interior. It’s built to fit a broad range of BMW and select performance cars and comes with a step-by-step installation guide for a straightforward DIY swap.

Which cars does the BE-472 fit?

The BE-472 is designed to match OE-style cabin filter housings used across many BMW model years and selected sports cars. Use the vehicle fitment tool or check the included manual to confirm compatibility with your specific year, model and drivetrain. Common compatible families include 2 Series, 3 Series, 4 Series, M-series, and several Porsche 911/718 variants.

• Fits numerous BMW 2, 3 and 4 Series model years and xDrive variants.
• Includes coverage for many M cars and performance trims.
• Also cross-references to select Porsche 911 and 718 models.
• Always verify fitment with year/make/model before ordering.

How does it improve cabin air compared with standard filters?

The BE-472 combines thick electrostatic filtering layers with activated carbon to address both particles and gaseous contaminants. The heavy media attracts microscopic dust, pollen and soot while the coconut-shell carbon adsorbs odors and volatile organic compounds that ordinary paper filters miss. This two-pronged approach helps keep cabin air feeling fresher and reduces common in-car smells.

• Electrostatic media captures fine particulate matter effectively.
• Real coconut-shell activated carbon reduces odors and VOCs.
• Multiple pleats increase surface area for better throughput and lower resistance.

What longevity and performance can I expect?

Engineered for longer service intervals, the BE-472 is rated for up to 15,000 miles under normal driving conditions—about 25% longer than many standard cabin filters rated near 12,000 miles. Its heavier, industrial-strength construction maintains filtering efficiency over a longer period, helping reduce replacement frequency without sacrificing airflow. For best results, inspect the filter periodically and replace based on driving environment.

• Rated life up to 15,000 miles under typical conditions.
• Approximately 25% longer expected service than baseline filters.
• Robust build helps preserve airflow and filtration efficiency across use.

Can I install the BE-472 myself and what’s included?

Yes — the BE-472 is intended to be a user-replaceable cabin filter. Every order includes an installation manual to guide a simple swap in most vehicles, often requiring only basic tools. Self-installation saves on shop labor and ensures the filter is changed on your schedule.

• Step-by-step installation manual included with each filter.
• Designed for straightforward replacement in accessible cabin filter housings.
• DIY swap can save service costs and time at a repair shop.

Who is this for? The SPEARHEAD Breathe Easy BE-472 is aimed at drivers who want more robust cabin filtration than basic stock filters—especially owners of compatible BMW and select performance cars who deal with city pollution, highway exhaust, seasonal pollen or lingering odors. It’s a good choice for people who prefer longer service intervals and a heavier-duty filter media, and for DIYers who replace routine consumables themselves.
