STAR BRITE 8" Heavy Duty Stiff Wash Brush Head — 8 in Replaceable, Chemical-Resistant, Floats

The STAR BRITE 8" Heavy Duty Stiff Wash Brush is a replaceable brush head made from high-density Star prene fibers for aggressive, non-damaging cleaning of textured boat decks and outdoor surfaces.

Designed for marine and outdoor use, this 8-inch brush head combines a corrosion-resistant synthetic block with chemically resistant Star prene filaments to tackle stuck-on dirt, salt deposits and textured non-skid surfaces. It connects to standard 3/4" threaded handles and STAR BRITE's Extend-A-Brush telescoping poles, floats if dropped, and stands up to sun, saltwater and hot cleaning solutions up to 200°F. Available in Soft (Yellow), Medium (Blue) and Heavy Duty Stiff (White), this Heavy Duty Stiff variant delivers the firm scrubbing action needed for heavy grime without scratching most surfaces.

How does the STAR BRITE 8" Heavy Duty Stiff wash brush perform on non-skid boat decks?

The heavy duty stiff filaments are designed to reach into textured grooves and lift stubborn dirt and oxidized residue while minimizing abrasion on underlying gelcoat when used correctly. The dense Star prene fibers maintain shape under pressure for consistent scrubbing power and resist chemicals that would weaken natural bristles.

• Stiff Star prene fibers penetrate textured surfaces for deeper cleaning
• Lightweight synthetic block resists sun and saltwater damage
• Compatible with extendable poles to provide leverage and reach
• Floats on water, making retrieval simple if dropped overboard

Will this brush head work with my handle or Extend-A-Brush pole?

The brush head uses a dual-connection design that fits standard 3/4" threaded handles and STAR BRITE Extend-A-Brush telescoping poles. That means you can swap it onto most common threaded shaft handles or attach it to STAR BRITE's adjustable poles for high-reach cleaning without buying a new brush handle.

• Standard 3/4" threaded connection fits many generic handles
• Direct compatibility with STAR BRITE Extend-A-Brush poles
• Quick replacement of worn heads for continued performance

How durable are the materials and how do they respond to cleaners and heat?

Star prene is a polymer fiber engineered to resist staining, rot, mildew, and odor absorption. It tolerates common marine and deck cleaners and reportedly withstands temperatures up to 200°F, which helps when warm cleaning solutions are used. The synthetic block is light and UV-resistant to reduce brittleness and prolong service life in harsh outdoor conditions.

• Star prene resists chemical degradation and staining
• Heat tolerance up to 200°F for warm-water cleaning
• Won't rot, mildew, or hold odors like natural bristles
• UV-resistant block keeps shape and buoyancy over time

What cleaning tasks is the heavy duty stiff brush best suited for?

This variant is optimized for heavy grime, scuff marks and embedded dirt on boat decks, hard-wearing outdoor furniture, launch ramps and other textured or non-skid surfaces. Use it where firmer agitation is required; choose a softer or medium head for delicate surfaces to avoid over-scrubbing.

• Chore: removing embedded dirt and oxidized film from non-skid decks
• Chore: scrubbing dock boards, ramps and textured patio surfaces
• Chore: prep cleaning before polishing or stain treatment
• Chore: general heavy-duty wash-downs on boats, RVs and marine gear

Who is this for: The STAR BRITE 8" Heavy Duty Stiff Wash Brush is aimed at boat owners, marina staff, deck maintenance professionals and homeowners who need a replaceable, durable brush head that stands up to saltwater, sun and strong cleaners. If you require aggressive scrubbing power on textured surfaces but still want a brush that fits standard handles and floats if dropped, this heavy duty Star prene head is a practical, long-lasting choice.
