STAR BRITE Corrosion Buster Pen rust & corrosion removal tool — retractable fiber tip, 20,000+ micro glass fibers

The STAR BRITE Corrosion Buster Pen is a precision hand tool that uses over 20,000 ultra-fine glass fibers to remove rust, corrosion, wax, and grime from tight spots without solvents.

Whether you work on boats, motorcycles, fishing gear, or electrical connections, this compact pen brings a non-chemical, mechanical cleaning method to places sandpaper and brushes can’t reach. Its retractable fiber tip and ergonomic body let you control contact depth and pressure, so you can clean fragile terminals, restore metal finishes, or prep surfaces for paint without damaging surrounding materials.

How does the Corrosion Buster Pen clean tight or delicate areas?

The pen’s tip contains more than 20,000 ultra-fine glass fibers that act like a micro sandblaster, mechanically abrading corrosion and deposits while leaving base material intact when used correctly. You can extend or retract the fibers to match the job, keeping aggressive action only where needed.

• Over 20,000 micro glass fibers for controlled abrasion
• Adjustable fiber length to tailor aggressiveness
• Retractable tip stores fibers safely between uses
• Works without chemical cleaners—good for sensitive electronics

What surfaces and tasks is this pen best suited for?

It’s designed for precision maintenance: electrical terminals, battery posts, hinge pins, cable ends, threaded fasteners, and small marine hardware. It also excels at paint prep in crevices, removing wax or polishing residue from trim, and cleaning fishing reels or small engine parts.

• Electrical connectors and battery terminals
• Marine hardware, stainless fasteners, and fishing tackle
• Auto detailing crevices and paint-prep spots
• Small mechanical and electronic components

How comfortable and durable is the Corrosion Buster Pen for repeated use?

The pen was built with extended jobs in mind: an oversized, contoured body and finger indent improve grip and reduce hand fatigue. The robust construction and replaceable/retractable fiber assembly keep the tool ready for long-term outdoor or workshop use.

• Ergonomic oversized body for secure handling
• Durable housing protects fibers during transport
• Retractable mechanism increases fiber life
• Compact and portable for on-boat or trail kits

Do I need chemicals or special cleaners with this tool?

No solvents are required for most jobs—the mechanical action of the glass fibers removes corrosion without chemical softeners. For certain surfaces like weathered teak, STAR BRITE recommends pairing the pen with specific cleaners as an initial step for optimal results.

• Works effectively without harsh chemicals for metal and electronics
• Pair with STAR BRITE Teak Cleaner for heavily weathered teak before fiber work
• Reduces need for abrasive papers that can over-remove material
• Safer option for delicate contacts and finishes

Who this is for: The STAR BRITE Corrosion Buster Pen is aimed at boat owners, anglers, auto detailers, electricians, mechanics, and anyone who maintains small equipment. If you need a portable, controlled way to remove rust and deposits from narrow or fragile areas—without resorting to harsh chemicals—this pen is a practical addition to your toolkit. It suits DIYers and professionals who value precision, portability, and preserving the integrity of sensitive components while restoring function and appearance.
