StaunchAuto Engine & Cabin Air Filter Combo — Subaru Forester 2.5L 2019–2024, ABS Frame & Coconut Carbon

StaunchAuto's Engine & Cabin Air Filter Combo replaces both your Forester 2.5L engine intake filter and cabin pollen/odor filter with durable, multi-layer media designed for cleaner engine air and fresher cabin air.

If you own a 2019–2024 Subaru Forester with the 2.5L engine, keeping both the engine air intake and cabin ventilation filters in top condition helps maintain performance, fuel efficiency, and interior air quality. This combo includes a high-strength engine filter built on an ABS frame and a dual-layer cabin filter that uses activated coconut-shell adsorption to trap odors and gases—together they target particles, contaminants, and smells that standard filters miss. The set is engineered to be a simple, cost-effective maintenance upgrade you can install during routine service intervals.

How does the engine filter protect my Forester's 2.5L motor?

The StaunchAuto engine filter uses high-quality filter paper and a rigid ABS frame to block dust, grit, and abrasive particles before they reach the intake. Cleaner intake air reduces wear on internal components and helps maintain consistent airflow for combustion.

• Compatible replacement for part 16546AA16A
• Multi-layer filter media captures fine and coarse particulates
• Rigid ABS frame resists deformation under airflow
• Designed for twice the lifespan of ordinary paper filters

What improvements will I notice inside the cabin?

The included cabin filter uses a double-layer design with coconut-shell activated carbon to adsorb odors and harmful gases while filtering out pollen and fine dust. Expect reduced smells from traffic, exhaust, and pollutants and a fresher-feeling HVAC airflow.

• Replacement for cabin filter 72880-FL000
• Activated coconut-shell carbon reduces odors and VOCs
• 99.9% efficient particle filtration in the double-layer media
• Designed to maintain smooth airflow and lower HVAC noise

How often should I replace these filters, and is installation straightforward?

StaunchAuto recommends replacing the filters every six months or about 12,000 miles, whichever comes first, depending on driving conditions. Both filters are direct-fit replacements for the listed model years and can be installed with basic hand tools following vehicle-specific instructions.

• Suggested interval: 6 months or 12,000 miles
• Direct-fit for 2019–2024 Subaru Forester 2.5L
• Simple swap—no permanent modifications required
• Regular replacement helps avoid costly engine or HVAC issues

Will these filters affect airflow, HVAC noise, or fuel economy?

The filters are engineered for low resistance to airflow while still providing efficient filtration. That balance helps preserve HVAC performance and minimize additional engine load, supporting stable fuel economy and reducing the chance of rattles or restricted air volume.

• Low-resistance structure maintains smooth air delivery
• Reduces air-conditioning noise caused by restricted flow
• Helps prevent reduced engine efficiency from clogged intakes
• Optimized to balance filtration and airflow performance

Who is this for: The StaunchAuto Engine & Cabin Air Filter Combo is aimed at Subaru Forester 2.5L owners (model years 2019–2024) who want an affordable, higher-durability replacement for factory filters. It suits drivers seeking improved engine protection, better cabin air quality, and a straightforward maintenance upgrade—especially those who frequently drive in dusty, urban, or high-traffic environments and want to avoid premature wear or persistent interior odors.
