SUMHEN Fuel Tank Strap Kit 578-305 — 2-Piece Steel Replacement (32" & 23.5", Corrosion-Resistant OEM Fit)

SUMHEN 578-305 is a two-piece replacement fuel tank strap set engineered to secure fuel tanks on compatible Dodge Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 models with durable steel construction and precise OEM-style dimensions.

This SUMHEN replacement strap kit restores the original mounting strength and fit for older Rams where factory straps have worn, corroded or failed. The set includes two steel straps—one 32-inch and one 23.5-inch—finished to resist rust and sized to match the referenced OEM numbers (578-305, 52102522AA/AB/AC, ST305). It’s designed for a wide range of model years and engine configurations, so confirming your truck’s year, bed length and original strap layout before purchase ensures a correct fit.

Which Dodge Ram models and years does this strap set fit?

The SUMHEN 578-305 kit is compatible with many Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 model years and engine variants. Fitment covers early-2000s 1500 trucks and multiple 2500/3500 years up to the late 2010s for certain engines and bed lengths. Always compare the listed reference numbers or measure your current straps to be sure.

• Fits Ram 1500 (2002–2009) including 4.7L and compatible 3.7L/5.7L/5.9L variants per listing notes.
• Fits Ram 2500/3500 years spanning ~2006–2019 for specified engine sizes and 98.3-inch bed lengths.
• Reference OEM numbers: 578-305, 52102522AA/AB/AC/AD, 68299820AA, ST305.

How does the SUMHEN strap restore fuel tank safety and reliability?

These replacement straps replicate the original mounting dimensions and use corrosion-resistant steel to re-secure the tank to the vehicle’s frame. By replacing weakened or rusted straps, the kit eliminates excessive tank movement and reduces the risk of damage from road vibration and impacts. Installation is straightforward for someone with basic hand tools or a mechanic.

• Two-piece kit: one 32-inch strap and one 23.5-inch strap for correct mounting orientation.
• 2.2-inch strap width mirrors OEM sizing for even load distribution.
• Steel construction with protective finish for improved durability in corrosive environments.

What should I check before ordering to ensure correct fit?

Measure your current straps and confirm bed length and engine/model year to match the listed compatibilities. The kit’s lengths and reference numbers are provided so you can cross-check with the OEM part numbers stamped on original straps or listed in repair documentation. If your truck used a different strap layout or nonstandard fuel tank, this kit may not fit.

• Measure strap lengths: 32.0 in and 23.5 in; width 2.2 in—compare to your existing parts.
• Confirm your truck’s bed length (98.3 in where specified) and model year/engine match fitment list.
• Cross-reference OEM numbers: 52102522AA/AB/AC/AD, 578-305, ST305.

How easy is installation and what tools are needed?

Replacing fuel tank straps is a moderate DIY job that most home mechanics can complete with common tools and a safe jack or lift. The process typically involves supporting the fuel tank, removing the old rusted straps and hardware, and bolting the new SUMHEN straps in place. If you’re not comfortable working under the vehicle or handling fuel system components, professional installation is advised.

• Typical tools: jack and stands or lift, socket set, torque wrench, penetrating oil for old bolts.
• Securely support the tank before removing straps to avoid damage or injury.
• Inspect bolts and hardware—replace corroded fasteners for a complete repair.

Who is this for: The SUMHEN 578-305 fuel tank strap set is intended for owners of Dodge Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 trucks who need a reliable, OEM-replacement strap solution to stop sagging or corroded mounts. It’s suitable for DIY mechanics and repair shops restoring older trucks to safe, roadworthy condition, but buyers should confirm their truck’s years, engine option and bed length match the listed fitment before ordering.
