urban Motorcycle Disc Lock UR59 — 14 mm Fluorescent Yellow, Hardened Steel Double-Locking Mini U

The Urban UR59 is a compact, high-security 14 mm hardened-steel disc/U lock designed to immobilize brake discs or chain links and deter opportunistic thefts on motorcycles, scooters and eBikes.

The UR59 combines a mini U-shackle profile with a disc-lock function and a double locking mechanism to increase cut-and-pry resistance while remaining small and easy to carry. Finished in a fluorescent yellow for visibility, this model includes a reminder cable to prevent riding with the lock still in place and features SEK-rated anti-pick internals for reliable everyday protection.

How does the UR59 stop a quick theft attempt?

Its ø14 mm hardened-steel U and double locking points reduce leverage and make common attacks like bolt-cropping and prying harder to execute than single-point locks. The internal anti-pick discs add protection against manipulation.

• Hardened steel shackle resists cutting tools better than soft metal.
• Double locking secures the shackle at both ends for added rigidity.
• SEK-rated cylinder with anti-pick discs increases key security.

Will it fit my brake disc, wheel chain or helmet lock hole?

The UR59’s 40 x 59 mm internal dimensions were chosen for broad compatibility with most motorcycle and scooter front brake discs, rear wheel chains and helmet lock points. It’s small enough for convenient storage yet large enough for common mounting points.

• Ø14 mm shackle with 40x59 mm clear space fits standard disc holes and many chain links.
• Compact design works on scooters, eBikes and many motorcycles.
• Reminder cable included to secure helmets or act as a visible safety tether.

How practical is it for daily use and portability?

Urban designed the UR59 to balance tough security with everyday convenience: it’s lightweight compared with full-size U-locks, brightly colored for easy spotting, and small enough to stow in a compartment or bag. The key cylinder is protected and the lock cycles smoothly for repeated use.

• Fluorescent yellow finish improves visibility and deters opportunistic thieves.
• Compact 59 mm height makes carrying and handling simple.
• Includes reminder cable to avoid accidental ride-offs with the lock engaged.

What maintenance and care does the UR59 need?

Routine care keeps the locking mechanism reliable: keep the cylinder clean, lubricate occasionally with a graphite or silicone-based lock lubricant, and store keys safely. The hardened body is built for outdoor use but should be dried after heavy rain or immersion.

• Wipe and dry after exposure to heavy moisture to prevent surface corrosion.
• Apply lock-specific lubricant periodically to the cylinder for smooth operation.
• Keep the spare key in a secure place and test locking before leaving the vehicle.

Who is this for? The Urban UR59 is aimed at riders who need a compact, visible, and robust deterrent for medium-risk environments — commuters on scooters and eBikes, urban motorcyclists seeking a secondary lock, or anyone who wants a portable disc/U lock to secure a wheel or chain. It’s an excellent choice when you want stronger protection than a cable lock without the bulk of a full-size chain or U-lock, and for buyers who value a well-known European brand and practical extras like a reminder cable.
