Vepagoo Tailgate Assist for Dodge Ram 1500/2500/3500 (2009–2025) — Gas Dampener, Slow-Release Soft Close

The Vepagoo Tailgate Assist is a heavy-duty dampening shock kit that slows, cushions, and prevents tailgate slam on Dodge Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500 models from 2009–2025.

Designed to replace the factory tailgate mechanism with a controlled, low-speed descent, this kit reduces noisy slams, minimizes tailgate bounce, and makes loading and unloading safer and easier. Built from electroplated 45# structural steel for corrosion resistance, the assembly includes all necessary hardware and specialty tools to complete the installation on supported Ram model years.

How does the Vepagoo Tailgate Assist reduce tailgate slam?

The integrated gas/damper shock absorbs the tailgate’s potential energy and releases it slowly so the tailgate descends at a controlled pace instead of dropping abruptly. This prevents the metal-on-metal impact that causes loud slamming and sudden shocks to the hinge points.

• Gas-assisted dampening slows descent for a soft close
• Precision mounting plates keep alignment stable under load
• Reduces stress on hinges and latch components
• Minimizes bounce when the tailgate reaches the closed position

Average DIYers with basic hand tools can complete the job in about 30–60 minutes; professional installation is optional.
